Some systems have sensors for the vapors that the solvent in the cans produces. The sensor triggers a silent alarm or something like that. Water based paint doesnt produce these vapors.

It depends, if you are under the sea level, you have to paint with water based, if you are not so you can paint with any can you want. Peace bro.
