That's very good information regarding papaya seed.sexing because that's information that plant nurseries would not want to tell me.
As far as sticking a plastic crate over the seedlings,I would place some shade cloth or flyscreen mesh over it outdoors to keep the slugs & snails from eating the seedlings.
I know today I had a papayuelo seed sprout which I planted,it was kept in storage for 2 years or so,I only had to soak 2 of them for 24 hours then plant them & one of them germinated.
I hope I get a couple of female plants because I already have 1 plant which isn't even flowering,I think it may be a female plant & the other flowering plant is a male.
They are a rare seed so I want to store & sell them on eBay when I get fruit from them !
