I appreciate those that put a lot of work into making these roms enjoyable. I've played a whole bunch of rom hacks that are just so hard to beat (much harder than the original SMB2 Japan), not that I'm against it, but I like the idea of these rom hacks being another adventure for Mario and playing these make me feel like I'm playing Super Mario Bros for the first time.

I agree. Sometimes just a different setup is enough.
