Create Vector Halftone with Any Shapes | Adobe Illustrator

In this video, I'll show you how to Create a Vector Halftone in Adobe Illustrator. This is a simple technique but in this tutorial, I use ReplaceItems Script to Replace Halftone with any shapes. So with that, you can create custom halftones with objects or shapes you like.

Very helpful, however, the smaller circles in my halftone were not traced as perfect circles like the other larger ones. Image trace doesn't trace them perfectly at such a small size, any fix?

When I select the halftone image and the little shape I want to replace the dots with I go to Scripts > Replace Items there is no Replace Items option it just has a short list that only gives Image Tracing - Save Docs as PDF- Save Docks as SVG or Other Scripts which takes me to my desktop. So I can't seem to trigger or find the Scripts option / menu w/ Replace Items option to customize my halftone dots? What am I missing.... what are all the screen clicks your doing? My Illustrator cursor doesn't make any kind of visual when I click the screen like yours does but I am on a laptop with no mouse, I use the track pad on my laptop. What am I doing wrong?

You need to get a new function. (replace items.jsx, randomus.jsx)

For some reason, my figures are not rasterized very correctly, not so smoothly even in high quality and there is a white background that is not so easy to remove, can it just make it transparent? According to your video like this, you did not

You don't need to worry about that. Complete the tutorial by clicking Image Trace (click on ignore white in Image Trace options) and then click expand. It will make it vector objects again.
