Happy Birthday Thom!
mario fans hearing Chris Pratt's voice and deciding they can't go on:
This is the greatest gift Thom could receive on his birthday
normally this song is so depressing, but without the lyrics, it actually sounds like it belongs in the game
If this song was in the actual game, it would likely be very popular nowadays
Radiohead said many times in interviews that the almost childlike beach-boysy sound was meant to juxtapose the lyrically dark themes, and this is actually a pretty goofy representation of that
Surprise! 🤗
The song is actually about being open and genuine with life and others, living to your most happiness 😉🥹
This was actually the original Wet Dry World theme but it was cut due to limited cartridge space. However, it somehow found its way onto Thom Yorke’s personalized copy of Mario 64 and quickly became his favorite song in the game. Noticing that no one else seemed to have it in their copies, he decided to use it as inspiration. The dark lyrics deriving from the infamous negative emotional aura of Wet Dry World. The fact that his copy alone played it was almost like receiving divine inspiration. It was such a great melody, he had to share it with the world.
I can confirm, I used to play N64 with Thom all the time. Motherfucker would always pick Odd Job in Goldeneye
When you’re voiced by Chris Pratt 😔
Keep coping. So many spoiled people being so salty over trifles these days. lol
These videos are amazing. They seamlessly join our childhood with our teenage years. They appeal to a very specific demographic that I’m thankful I’m part of.
These sound fonts are so nostalgic to me. They sound like home; they just sound so right.
@@melhanlol Do you think the audience demographic of OK Computer was children playing Mario 64 ? Regardless of the release date, it makes sense that someone wouldn't end up actually getting into Radiohead until their teenage years
the detail is incredible adding that sfx at 0:11, amazing
The second I heard the little “ahhh” before the drums kicked in I clicked like
Mariohead - No Goombas
A heart that's full up like a landfill
A job that slowly kills you
Bruises that won't heal
You look so tired, unhappy
Bring down the King Koopa
He don't, he don't speak for us
I'll take a quiet life
A handshake of carbon monoxide
And no koopas and no goombas
No koopas and no goombas
No koopas and no goombas
Silent, silent
This is my final star
My final bellyache
With no koopas and no goombas
No koopas and no goombas
No koopas and no goombas, please
Such a pretty castle
And such a pretty cake
No koopas and no goombas (get me out of here)
No koopas and no goombas (get me out of here)
No koopas and no goombas, please (get me out of here)
now we just have to get the guy who sang mario paranoid android to sing this too
in this version mario realized that his ways of progressing and getting stars involve killing goombas and koopas, which he, because of the association with the stars, found enjoyment in doing so. but he realized that it is, in fact, murder. so he chooses to part ways with killing them, and thus stripping himself from the possibility of getting more stars. he contemplates suicide, as the only thing that mattered to him can no longer be achieved without suffering of others
Hearing these Radiohead songs in this medium makes me appreciate them even more as a band, for some reason. They wrote/write some truly incredible stuff.
your radiohead arrangements always have this aura of mystery and understanding to them. just the instruments you use, maybe, but i like to think a lot of it is from a sentimental touch or smth. its like a warm hug when ur sleepy. thank you.
Beautiful writing of exactly what I felt but couldn't put into words
I really think it's the choice in arrangement/instrumentation that sets your covers of this style apart from similar attempts I've seen
Really just fantastic stuff - shows a lot of understanding of the composition
Yeah. Dude somehow always chooses the best instrument and there's never an off midi note
Even though it's got the funny wahoo man in the fish bowl, it still pulls at my heart strings
Stunningly beautiful, great job man. Is it too much to ask for the entire Radiohead discography? 😂
Brilliant, sensitive work as usual. Mario’s lazy eye is a good touch too 😂
I hope to hear a Karma Police rendition soon. But I love this rendition of No Surprise compared to other versions. This keeps the melancholia of the song
This is incredible! I hope you do more of these - "OK N64" would be an amazing project!
The slower speed of this compared to previous mixes leads me to absorb the layered tracks more deeply. Regardless, wow. Ethereal.
Someone needs to make a Mario 64 hack with all of your remixes, it would be epic.
The perfect music to listen to when you are finally back on rym again after being suspended.
Not only is the music great, but let's also appreciate that thumbnail
Made me cry
Man I’ve been listening to other 64 versions of this song, I just gotta say that you killed this. Nailed the feel of the track, nailed the tone choices, nailed the drums, it’s so clear and well made
Your channel is so great and has artistic merit. Be proud of this
This is PEAK TH-cam
way beyond the novelty factor of marioxradiohead its really interesting to hear how you pick sounds and compose them
Never heard this song before but man, feels so dreamlike and beautiful, much like nostalgic feelings
2:48 the song gets REAL. Awesome!
emotions
4word back at it again, doing justice to the mario64 soundfont. Can't wait to hear these in some banging romhacks. Keep up the good work m8
You have definitely grown in your composition. Now vs the first few videos have put out have grown in quality immensely. Please keep putting these out, they're something to look forward to.
i love how he even has the eye thing lol
WAKE TF UP NEW RADIOHEAD MARIO64 COVER!!!
Im utterly invested in your upload schedule
This has gotta be my favorite channel right now
1:35 the bass hits hard
kinda feel like singing over this as mario
This is so lovely that I don’t have words to describe my emotional response, thank you for creating this
These mixes are great. Subbed.
This is so good, hopefully you do Weird Fishes or Reckoner sometime
I know this isn't related to my comment I made on Alberto Balsalm but it's such a treat to see one of my favorite Radiohead songs in this style when I've already been having a great day
This fits SM64 the most out of all of them so far I think, keep up the amazing work
The remixes you make are great! Keep up the good work.
I've stumbled upon your work very recently, and I already can't get enough of it! Thanks for making universes collide in the best possible way
Finding your work is honestly the best thing that could have happened this year. Thank you for doing what you do and don't stop!
Another banger from this guy! Awesome job!
These remixes are awesome. Looking forward to the next one :)
I think this is your best work yet man. This is absolutely beautiful 😢😢
These unlock memories and feelings I’ve long since forgotten about. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Beautiful. I love it. You're amazing dude.
One of your best yet!
The quality works so well with this cover. Beautiful job.
this is GORGEOUS. This is AMAZING. you turn every song you touch into solid star material man
YOU CLOSED HIS LEFT EYE SLIGHTLY THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL
This gives me nostalgia to a long deleted smash-up. It was No surprises using All Star Noises by Dumpmouth
This was so worth the wait.
finding this channel really has been the highlight of my week.
i’m not crying
Bro this is great, the mario 64 style really compliments the original music. Would love to see some duster or mbv covers on your channel too, if you like those bands of course
Nintendo Ultra 64 |The Ultimate Game Collab| OST: It feels like you brought all the memories here, right now
No Surprises (except for that damn piano with teeth that jumps out and shits you up)
I've always thought that there was similarity to David Bowie's space oddity. With such a good Mashup as this I hope to one day hear someone combine these two songs together.
Damn your version is the best of the two I didn’t expect anything less, but it’s just impressive how much more effort you put into working with the soundfont it almost gives off the feeling Thom, and the boys put this together themselves, but waiting on that Let Down, in the style of Mario 64, mate that song would be beautiful in this style as I’ve said before, but it’s because of how melodic it is, and it just has this grand triumph ending theme of Mario 64, or Zelda, vibes.
This could easily fit in a chill snowy part!
So cozy and sorrowful, whimsical and elegiac all at the same time. Bravo! Bravo!
Oh my, this is just too much 😢
Beautiful as always.
wonderful, as always!
Great work keep it up man
3:10
Everything came together so well. Beautiful job!
This is beautiful, thank you
Thank you for making this 😭
I didn't know how much I needed this in my life lmao
this is incredibly well done
Another banger
Incredible work, once again
I love you so much for making these.
I used one of your remixes too in one of my vids I don't know if you mind or anything but I linked to it in the description and gave credit. Keep up the awesome work man
Lovely. Truly enjoying your uploads/
I listen to this unironically
"I'ma tired"
Goosebumps!
Such a pretty house, and such a pretty castle.
Man I listen to this with my dad all the time. Nice to see a remix of this song!
Huh, weird. I thought there would be more grimdark Mario fanfiction in the comments. I guess those are reserved for the Minor key edits...
Beautiful remix btw, it makes me borderline emotional
I love this!
Do Weird Fishes/Arpeggi next
Great job as always 👍
gorgeous
This one actually feels like a hidden track of sm64 rather than a cover using the instruments in that game
Thank you for this.
i always look forward to not just the remix but the little joke you always put in the description
Amazing , I would love to hear something from Amnesiac too like “I might be wrong”
Mario64もRadio headも好きな自分にとってこの動画はとても良いものに感じます😊
The ultimet cocktail of nostalgic
I love it!! Good video ❤️
i know you probably have a ton of ideas, but the tourist would seem really, really cool. its a song that is my personal favourite from ok computer, which i think is the most overlooked song from the album
This is amazing please keep making music
i needed this, you dont even wanna know
you are my new favourite channel
perfect video for today ^^
Fun fact: When the water level goes down, you can see Mario give a little smile. That’s because it took him loads of takes before he could hold his breath long enough to do the entire music video. It was really hard for him because he hates water levels, but he did it in the end, truly one of the musical artists of our time
Have you seen the "bloopers" of the shooting of the video? He literally has a nervous breakdown or two
well done
@@artiemilano378 thats the joke
@@artiemilano378 well yeah he lost fire flower, Bloopers are a real threat.
I always thought the ok computer music videos were him confronting his fears. Not getting over them, just, being in them. Car crash -> fear of driving -> karma police mv. Fear of drowning -> no surprises
