It's always sad to think that we're never going to get another George Carlin HBO special...every time a new one would come out I would watch it 3 or 17 times. The last 1 or 2 weren't quite up to his standard, but they were still pretty funny. You could tell he had lost a step or two in his old age, as we all do and will.

I ask Theo and Ce. Do you believe in any of the gods ? I've found that 'black' folk are a lot more religious than other groups. I find this fact fascinating because of the history African Americans had to endure. This is literally the religion that was FORCED upon your ancestors by those evil slave owners. The same religious book used to justify your slavery is now praised and accepted as fact by nearly all of the AA community. And if its not the christian version of the god, you choose the muslim version of the god and very rarely do we see African American atheists. The only black non-believer I can think of is Niel DeGrass Tyson. And whats even more fascinating is the prevalence of religions in AA females is nearly 100%, there are no atheist black women, they are all members of one of the religions. Why is that ? Anyways... good luck with your channel, this was a pretty good reaction and... hail Satan.

Yeah as an american that always confused me why so many black folks became so religious. Maybe they dont realize the religion was forced upon them by slave owners? What I find interesting about his bit is the sun part. how he worships the sun. which is what religion is anyways... religion is just when ancient people used to worship the sun and eventually Rome took the sun out and put a Jewish man in place. If you took a lot of the things that describes Jesus , God's "son" (sun).... the "light" of the world.... the "risen" savior(sunrise) that comes in the "clouds"..... If you take Jesus out and put the sun in his place it all still makes sense because that's really what it's referring to.... heck we know now that Jesus actually never even existed in the real world... jesus is just a literary creation ( a character in a book creation)

George Carlin was wrong. There was a Humpty Dumpty. During the English Civil War, Humpty Dumpty was a big canon that sat on a castle wall. One day Humpty Dumpty fell from the wall and "all the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put Humpty Dumpty together again."
That's one theory, although there's no virtually no evidence for it.

There’s allot of information to unpack when it comes to religious beliefs. Not only can you tell that George reads allot but he’s also lived long enough to see and understand all the inconsistencies in religious doctrines. For example, in genius it says that God made the Sun to light the day and the Moon to light the night. Right there you can see that who ever wrote this had no idea that the moon doesn’t admit light. Or in revelations where it states that stars will fall from the sky during the end of time. Again stars don’t or can’t fall from the sky. Today we know that stars are the creation of all life, the larger stars create the elements needed for all life. Hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, carbon, iron. When they die they create super novas and all of the atoms needed for life are blasted out into stellar nurseries where new stars are born. See none of this information was available when these religions were created. So they just made up what they thought to be the objective truth at the time. Personally I think there is a place for religious beliefs in society, for personal spiritual enlightenment. But don’t confuse it or use it for literal truth especially when it comes to science. Life began around 2 billion years ago and it just keeps rolling along. It’s people that create hate, wars, poverty, and yet we all live in a collaborative world where nothing is achieved by one single person.
I mean whether you believe in Adam & Eve or evolution regardless we still all have a common ancestor. Just 30/50 generations ago. So why can’t we all get along and love each other, help each other for the sake of our species. I don’t get it. IMO it just boils down to one single issue, Greed.
If we as humans are even capable of imagining a peaceful world then this means we’re capable of making it a reality.

Even if they can't be explained by science currently there's a good chance they will be in the coming years. And even if not that is hardly any solid proof of God. It seems kinda silly for God to bring one or 2 ppl back from death/ the edge of death and leave so much other horrendous stuff untouched. Why would you be bitter if you didn't believe in an afterlife. In a way, if this is the only life we have it makes each day more precious. There's nothing rude about what Carlin had to say.

Now. This is my opinion, my thoughts. I'd never tell anyone what to believe. Think and believe what comforts you. This world is terrible, so comfort is good.
Organized religion has always been too culty for me. Charismatic leaders who can bring people to them, regulations on what you can wear, say, drink, eat. They make it difficult to leave...
And no one could ever answer my biggest question. If there was only one god, then what is this quote from Genesis 3: 22-23 :
"And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.."
So. Other gods, then? Who were they? Why are they never talked about? Why is only one god worshipped, and all others' existence is denied, and forbidden? They just told me to shut my mouth and not to ask. Why? I don't believe in blind obedience. It's bullshit. If that god made me as I am, then the all-knowing knew exactly what I would do in my life, and created me flawed. Seems cruel, no?

I take a LOT of comfort from not believing in god(s). Especially since the Christian one is an absolute genocidal, emotionally imbalanced, mentally ill psychopath. I really don't want to live in a universe governed by that freaking thing. The mystery of existence is preferable to any answer anyone will ever attempt to give to the "why are we here?" question. Just get comfortable not knowing most things. At least you won't have to deal with thinking that most of the people you ever meet are going to spend eternity being tortured by demons.
