It's getting there DB, this is where the heart is in your mouth, not knowing how it's going to fit, but like you said no matter how good the panels are your always going to fettle, looking great 👍👍
Excellent progress - well done! How are you checking alignment between heel board/rear sub-frame mounting positions and front subframe mounting points, to ensure floor is aligned front to rear?
Thanks. So the heel board is aligned to the rear subframe, which is fixed in place from where the old floor came out of. The mounting holes on the front are on the toe board which i will need to replace a bit later. To align the floor to the toeboard i used the profiles of the full floor from the door steps and sills and front edge of the floor. This will help align the toe board later, also with the help of the rotisserie jig. The bracing has also helped hold it all in place
@@DBMiniDIY Thanks for clarifying the alignment aspect. I am needing to do a similar job on a Clubman 1275GT and am toying between the full Heritage floor (later pressing) and the M-Machine Mk4 floor that is apparently assembled by them using two half floors (but has the correct floor pressing) which results in more joins. Not sure which is going to be better...
@@EnginesRob the half floor m machine pressings are a good fit and a lot cheaper so its down to cost really but i defo could not fault the full heritage floor plus when you add all the extra panels on to it adds up like cross member, sills, heelboard etc
Cracking content! Thank you! What is the silver spray you use after the finger sander? Won’t it hinder welding ?(I’m a total novice btw) I ask as I’m about to do exactly the same to my 1979 Austin mini
Looking great DB! It's a lot of work getting to that stage but a great feeling when it's in place. Well done 👍👍
Great work and take my hat off to you and your helper for working in that limited space...👍👍
Thanks. Yeah totally out of space but thankful to have somewhere dry to work, especially the weather here just now
Very brave , it's not for the faint hearted . Looks good 🙂

Cheers keith, it certainly feels good getting it all clamped in
Looking good 👍 its such a bit motivator when the new panels are going on 😀

fantastic work sir, all that PPE is a pain in the bum but its well worth using it. you are doing a great job.
I hate wearing it but the cutting and grinding causes so much dust and debris, thanks mate
Great progress, even with the limited space 👍
Thanks, we all make do with what we have, but i would love more space

Nice work, think you’re making the right decision with the bulkhead as you put too much work in so far not to👍

Thanks and good luck with the resto, u will quickly pick things up. If the area is to be welded, I use zinc (weld through) primer
