It's amazing that Zisteau is one of the few people to play this modpack, and release semi regular content when other creators say "I filmed 10 hours and got 1 minute of footage." It's just such a Zisteau vibe to commit to this, and I'm here for it.
To be fair, I doubt most people have computers that can manage the load for a longer playthrough. There's a reason Zisteau optimized his power plant for 'lag' instead of 'building cost' or 'upkeep cost'.
8:22 The sheer insanity of a Z project never ceases to hit me like car crash. No matter how many times I see him do something insane, there's still always the "wait.... .WHAT" reaction
The part where you were explaining everything made me buckle down and lose my shit, can't wait for more. Love the amount of effort you put in for each video! Thank you for all that you do!!
Last year I spent about 200 hours on a space exploration game. I got to about this point and gave up. I felt like I had already done so much work, and yet only had two off world bases preparing materials. Hope you can pull it off, you’re doing great so far, loving this series!
I can't play SE for too long before getting to that point. It helps to put it down now and then and come back to it when you're feeling refreshed. I did this for about 2.5 years with the mod, slowly getting into deep space science..... and then the latest update hit and broke my entire base. Soooooo.... I packed up some shit for a 1-way trip to another star system across the local cluster and started over with the new update from there. Will see if I take another 2 years to get that far
During work I received the notification that both this video got uploaded and a new Etho Hermitcraft video. The latter used to be my favorite series, the one I looked forward to being uploaded the most. I clicked this one first. Your Factorio gameplay is officially my favorite series now, dude! Thanks for all the effort you always put into this.
Hey Z - I was a HUUUUUUGE fan of the Lynx-O Skyrim series, and also your Minecraft stuff. I'm not really into Factorio but I'm super happy to see you are still around!
Every time I see a factorio video from you Zisteau it makes me smile. I would never play this game, it is way too complicated for me. Watching how you figure all this out is awesome!
The amount of brain power always amazes me considering I'm playing 200hrs of factorio. The quality of these videos are just too much. Thank you Zisteau ❤️ Ps: That nuclear power set up though
I really have no idea what is going on. The last time I saw factorio it was a game about building a factory with base defense. Still it's nice to hear Zed's voice and see his unique over the top style.
A better programmer than I (or perhaps one who has worked with video games) might be able to derive interesting information about the construction robots' AI from that time lapse. That was mesmerizing
this is the part that I always get stuck at in space exploration. Building enough output of all the special space exploration stuff. I usually try to spaghetti it out and that never works fast enough
my fav way to deal with the recycled outputs is to put them back on the belt and have the main infeed of materials side-feed the belt so that it always uses the recycled stuff in priority over the new materials coming in
I shorted one of the "pipe reactor" from the start since it was not strictly needed (I think ?) and used robot for fuel delivery expect that I didn't find other improve.
For the circuits in the modded plates, could you use two stack filter inserters, one dedicated to each material, and wire them to the buffer chests to only be active if there are less than 100 of the particular material in the chest?
Some awesome designs for the SE metals there, although they don't look like the latest version, so be careful about updating. How does the combinator-heavy approach you use for Iridium etc al compare with using belts with filter splitters wrt UPS ??
filter splitters would probably be better for UPS, not sure. I honestly don't remember why I didn't build it that way, might have been too annoying with speed/prod 7s, or I just didn't think of doing it that way.
My entire base is the size of the just the circuit/module section haha, I'm at the tipping point of having to push through to get logistics network stuff to make it much easier...but I'm playing with Space Ex + Krastorio 2 which...ugh haha
Is it not possible you have 5x5 Reactors and middle are Free for a unterground belt (so 24 reactors total) and if you have diagonal arms (there are a mod to do this) you can feed the blockt 4 diagonal reactors? So 4 reactors are supported for 4 sides instead of three.
I am worried about the nuclear reactors trying to wait for fuel causing more lag, maybe you can add a mod that makes dummy nuclear reactors that just spread heat
We're watching the result of many hours of planning and figuring out stuff. By now it's just a matter of placing the designs and not interesting to watch for me.
Popping down a huge factory as an afterthought during the sign-off is just peak Zisteau content.
oh btw here is all the science and circuit production...
Yup! That "huge factory" being all of vanilla Factorio lol
I love how even "grenade a chest" is scaled up to "nuke a warehouse"
NEXT EPISODE HYPE!
The intro has quickly evolved from being a bit about not having a clock to just a completely random and unexpected twist.

The flow chart from 9:20 was very helpful. I could follow the details after, but don't test me on them. Great video
yeah! that was probably one of the coolest flowchart animation known to zisteaukind!
It's beginning to dawn on me that if I don't play close attention now I'll probably be completely lost as we get further into this mod.
Be like me and enjoy the spectacle. I have no clue about anything, but it’s fun to watch!
I never played this game, it has already been for me like this for most episodes, but somehow still enjoyable
The part where you were explaining everything made me buckle down and lose my shit, can't wait for more. Love the amount of effort you put in for each video! Thank you for all that you do!!
When it's finished, Nauvis will look from space like a giant circutboard. And that's a good thing.

I have never played this game myself, but I have watched you play it more than I play most games at this point.
8:14 is my favorite part: satisfying montages, followed by funny bit, and then a very clever way to visually lay out your plans. Bravo!
For me it's really more of a, "Both, absolutely both!" situation. No "why not?" about it. Clear effort that pays off for both of them.
Hey Z - I was a HUUUUUUGE fan of the Lynx-O Skyrim series, and also your Minecraft stuff. I'm not really into Factorio but I'm super happy to see you are still around!
I'm so invested in Captain Slog's adventure at this point!
Every time I see a factorio video from you Zisteau it makes me smile. I would never play this game, it is way too complicated for me. Watching how you figure all this out is awesome!

Ps: That nuclear power set up though
Months and months of preparation for that payoff… worth it! Much respect Zed
Man, the production quality is through the roof!
i just don't understand this game, but boy do I love watching Zisteau go nuts with complicated base designs no matter the game
The "yadda yadda" for the ground science had me rolling, hah!
Very cool! With added nostalgia hit from the Double Dragon II music
I really have no idea what is going on. The last time I saw factorio it was a game about building a factory with base defense. Still it's nice to hear Zed's voice and see his unique over the top style.
Love the series Z! I'm impressed of your dedication to make this kind of megabase. I think my brain would be fried if I was to attempt such a project.
:D Captain Slog is back
boop

this is the part that I always get stuck at in space exploration. Building enough output of all the special space exploration stuff. I usually try to spaghetti it out and that never works fast enough
Amazing series!
Great time-lapses!
Thats about 200 hours of research and gameplay, for a few minuters of content. Insane! (but I love it!)
my fav way to deal with the recycled outputs is to put them back on the belt and have the main infeed of materials side-feed the belt so that it always uses the recycled stuff in priority over the new materials coming in
Those builds are awesome! Keep up the good work!
man you always find a way to rope me back into factorio
i have no interest in factorio yet here i am watching every episode as it comes out
You would lose all your freetime to expanding the factory if you tried. It is *addicting*
I know its a video game, but I couldn't help but think about how unadvised jetpacking above nuclear reactors would be.
This series hurts my brain... in a good way
First Dosh, now you. Awesome.
Z was first, he just took several months off.
Great video! Thanks for making this, keep going!
love the visuel part off the explanation. soo match efert in to all part of the video. kaptin have bin logged. :P
Oh no it's Bob's Mod 2: Nuclear Boogaloo.
Mindbogglingly amazing
man made a flow chart in game
We miss you
I shorted one of the "pipe reactor" from the start since it was not strictly needed (I think ?) and used robot for fuel delivery expect that I didn't find other improve.
When I found out that you will need wood later in the space I regret the nuking warehouse decision
Amazing!
No 0.6 goodness?
For the circuits in the modded plates, could you use two stack filter inserters, one dedicated to each material, and wire them to the buffer chests to only be active if there are less than 100 of the particular material in the chest?
Crossing Factorio in a straight line music btw
Sometimes you just forget that glass is also a modded item...

All those recipes with stone and sand outputs.... is there somewhere specific thats using it all, or.....
yeah, another black hole we may have to nuke
can we get the blueprint for the reactors somewhere?
My entire base is the size of the just the circuit/module section haha, I'm at the tipping point of having to push through to get logistics network stuff to make it much easier...but I'm playing with Space Ex + Krastorio 2 which...ugh haha

It didn't feel good to see the wood warehouses being nuked, as wood is pretty useful to make biosludge later on (bio science pack 2)
Hey Z, wood can be crafted into green circuits, replacing stone tablets in the recipe
You can also use input priority splitters to use recycled beads/washed ore before inputting fresh stuff
And use filtered splitters to move them back to the input on a belt to that priorised splitter
@@fuuryuuSKK belts not gonna cut it under 10x speed modules lvl 7
@@mrShift_0044 just depends on how many machines you have per belt
I am worried about the nuclear reactors trying to wait for fuel causing more lag, maybe you can add a mod that makes dummy nuclear reactors that just spread heat
Wooo!
How about landfill between the 2 continents and make them one? Plenty of free real estate :)
LETS GOOO
All hail Caps lock. why you would name your child after a keyboard key i don't know but his odler sister is anykey.
We're watching the result of many hours of planning and figuring out stuff. By now it's just a matter of placing the designs and not interesting to watch for me.
r/oddlysatisfying
Third!
during the first like 6 or 7 episodes I really wanted to play this mod. now my brain is melting and I just want to watch Z play this mod.
