Wow - a WGI show with an actual (rather than an implied) theme, a relatable narrative, strong characterization, and a POINT OF VIEW! Whoda thunk it - a color guard that uses color! Unison equipment work that lasts more than eight counts! This show is head and shoulders above the rest in terms of design, execution, and entertainment value. This was a great blend of classic guard show design and contemporary musical score. Should have won by at least two full points or more. More of this, please!
@@Briellewatts That's what i've been literally telling people. Some people said AMP should've won because Pride of Cincinnati was boring, but Color Guard is not only about entertainment, it's about skill and talent.
@@williamvirden4463 Is your school like in the top 15 or 20 teams? Or they aren't just getting medals? Because even if they don't get medals I'm pretty sure they're still a good team if they're on Independent World.
@@sunflower4500 they been in the top 20 for awhile but their scores went down dramatically they been independent world for over 20 years now who knows what’s going to happen next year with them
I like the show. It's fun. And the performers are fantastic. But remember, folks, what's interesting and entertaining to a general audience may not be quite as entertaining to the judges, who watch hundreds of shows each year and must think actively about them and comment on them in a critical, informed way. Their perspectives will be different because of that experience. Also, if you look at AMP's effect scores, I think the judges actually did reward them for connecting with the audience in the performance sub-caption.
I totally agree with you here, and I understand why they didn’t win. I am however angry that they took the fan favorite award away this year, because they 100% would have won that and they didn’t get that chance.
I 100% agree with you here! I absolutely fell in love with AMP's show but I understand why they didn't win. I feel like people don't understand that the execution of work and the work itself plays a big part into how they get scored vs how entertaining it is.
Kind of the same with movies and movie critics. Critics may hate a movie but it can still be super popular and loved by the audience. If bands, corps, drumlines and winter guards get less than desirable scores, I hope they can remember how entertaining and loved by the audience they were.
I agree! The time has come for more than just piano conciertos, ballet and boring voice overs shows. Too many guards look and sound the same, especially like the guard that one the WGI championships prior. Amp was extremely entertaining! The roar from the crowd at show's end says it all Show well done staff and performers.🔥🔥🔥🔥
Time for WGI to score guards group fairly and instead of the order they were given start doing ties. Finals should of been a 4 way tie for the top especially this class I know there was 4 tie semi finals which cause my school not make finals
@@ah15974 I agree that Pride, Diamanté and Onyx are all extremely talented groups, but I almost felt, at times, like I was watching a top notch gymnastics demonstration. I loved Pride of Cincinnati’s 2010 show ”Summer of Love”. It reminded me of Amp’s show in the fact that it was entertaining, interesting and had a good soundtrack, but it didn’t take first place because apparently that’s not what the judges are looking for. The really artsy shows seem to score at the top. Personally, I’d rather be entertained, but that’s just my preference

Our winter guard was there with our guard director and they actually got pictures with the Joker and someone else who was in the show and apparently they were really nice
No. The medalist groups deserved their spots. This show lacked complex choreography and they relied too much on trick tosses. It was more of a talent show routine rather than a national top 3 routine

I really like your concept and appearance, it's just that if you describe it like the food is not really cooked, but the taste and appearance is very beautiful and attractive. and all supported by very very good music, i love the music. So if I open TH-cam I always watch it, basically if it appears on the search timeline, I'll definitely watch it until it's finished and if it's good I can ask for the song if I can. anyway you are amazing, hopefully next year can get the MAXIMUM results. This show gave me a headache and their work wasn’t even world class. Like cool someone did a back tuck under a toss but where is the intricate body and equipment choreography. There was so much walking around. This is a competition not a talent show
It is not their fault you are jealous of their talent. We get it- you can’t do any of this. You probably even got rejected from AMP. There’s technique in the show that is required in a performance in World Class. They just put a spin to it. It’s a difficult, unique show that took as much time as any other show in that stadium. You’re just too “sEnSiTvE🥺” to see it.
the rest of the shows had no concepts, the top three had NO FLAG FEATURE, and pride used stolen props. the other top 5 shows were boring, beige, and bathroom shows all around. this one was an actual show, one that was fun to watch. try again
their weapon work is definitely enough to have them in world class. the flag feature was ok, but overall the show is very well done & entertaining. not many teams can say the latter.

I’m surprise Fantasia (RCC which is my school) is still in Independent World since they haven’t won a medal in over 10 years 😢😢

I don't even do guard but I have to say this is one of the most entertaining shows I've seen!
Pride of Cincinnati 2010 is another one. I like this just as much, maybe a tad better.
