I used to break for some number of years and here around my town, everyone started learning all the moves to the point where it was just played out and boring. It's like it lost its excitement. These power breakers are awesome, and it's always exciting to watch these guys (and girls) do it, something me or people in my town could never do.
yeah man... power moves sure indeed evolved bboying.... personally.. i tink power moves has alrdy become INCORPARATED into style moves... hitting the beats and wow-ing the audiences and opponents... amazing shiet man
hey man. preach on LOL. I've read ur other comments about this battle and on other clips, and although it's opinion, I seriously feel that breaking has evolved. There are just so many haters on here who say that powerheads can't move or have no sould....on the contrary....look at someone like rhythm gate, baek, or bboy junior. No one can really argue that they don't know how to move to the music. It all looks good AND they've got power, so what are these haters talkin' about?
Bboy Finger ( zero-nine's teammate) was once caught dancing and was then named the family's problem child. To the neighborhood, he was a social misfit. Even so, his dancing continued, even after he was forced to live with a relative. If you say that those guys don't have soul then you don't know what soul is
dope, this is wat bboyin is all about... toppin each other and showin respect they both sick man, baek won this but zeronine and his crew is sick props to both
what upncominbbboy said, this was a friggin ironman match they both had multiple power moves in each set, as gimmicky i think beak is this was one of his more creative battles. well captured too
hey I heard that. My previous comments were about haters like that. talkin' about hella ol' skool man parish. Yeah, those are the roots with the rocksteady crew, but now bboying & b-gurlin has DEFINITELY evolved into something awesome. Not 2 4get the roots, but we're at the end of '07. haters need to get over it. Now it's all more exciting.
Most style heads don't like power heads because in a battle a style head with a few powermoves going against a powerhead bustin airtracks, back to back 90's,air flairs and shit like that puts the style head in a bad place because most crowds are majority non bboys so they go by whats more dynamic. Its a very controversial(cant spell) issue . Power Moves haven't killed bboying its just made bboying stronger as a whole. And that was a great battle all around.
I look at these clips, and I'm thinking, "DANG, makes me and all my other friends look bad". And like what you and other users said, this type of dancing is its OWN style also. There goes my 2 cents. Keep that positive mind of yours. Take it easy "PnoyDude".
It's really disrespectful when you say that those guys have no "soul". Zero-Nine and his whole crew didn't start dancing admist praises or encouragement. Their parents disagreed about then dancing.
I know u were dukin' it out with one dude about the nyc breakers. I have nothing but respect for them also, but let's all face it, there comes a point where everyone who breaks could do it, BUT, how many people do you know in person who could do what these powerheads could do.
dancing is moving to the music, it doesn't have to be what you've been fed by the media my friend. And yes, what Kyokuji said, that was funk and in hip hop, funk styles of dance are used a lot, like locking for example. And yes, Pnoy dude is right, bboys can dance to anything, it doesn't have to be electric boogie or Planet Rock.
i think people would really stop complaining if the famous breakers of korea would get some more unique style into their tops they are all kinda similiar in the way they attack the beat so yea a lil boring at times but their powers actually got a flow to it which makes it interesting yes. cant really complain about their top rock actually i kinda like it haha boring though.
uprocking, was there before bboying, so, it's its own dance style apart from bboying. all the rest of your descriptions are from popping and locking. The things you called not bboying like "power moves" and "strength" are a part of bboying.
Look at Crumbs, Kujo, Rodney Ruen, etc, they're all TOP influential bboys and they do power and strength a lot. Also, both of these Korean bboys, did top rock, what do you think they were doing while they were standing and dancing, that wasn't the funky chicken, that was variations of top and uprocks my friend. If you're a bboy, please learn the culture more in depth
so by your standards, there are hardly any real bboys out there right now, since they don't incorporate all aspects of foundation in their sets.. that's a pretty twisted view man
I love how they just let the skills do the talking. No interruption from one to the other....that shit gets old and lame....I understand attitude is part of the game but not during the others' sets....it shows insecurity in my eyes....peace

This was a showcase battle

zeronine repeated his chairflares for the first three sets....baek is sickkkkkkkk, i wanna see more of this threads! zeronine was dope too
I know u were dukin' it out with one dude about the nyc breakers. I have nothing but respect for them also, but let's all face it, there comes a point where everyone who breaks could do it, BUT, how many people do you know in person who could do what these powerheads could do.
Beak wins out of kindness, yet destroys from powermoves.

bboy zero-nine ftw.
Beak is the Winner of this Battle.

but isnt bboying also a dance?
uprocking, was there before bboying, so, it's its own dance style apart from bboying. all the rest of your descriptions are from popping and locking. The things you called not bboying like "power moves" and "strength" are a part of bboying.
Uh, those are both well known breaking songs, and they're funk, not techno.
I don't know how you thought they sounded anything like techno.
The site said Baek won.
yea i kno.
people like jologs21 is the reason why theres so much hate in bboying right now, why cant you guys just enjoy a fucking battle of dope ass bboys
wow Zero Nine clear winner.
Look at Crumbs, Kujo, Rodney Ruen, etc, they're all TOP influential bboys and they do power and strength a lot.

zero9's 1st set is dope but baek took the battle
Koreans?
zero 9 didnt swipe that whole battle im pretty sure, he did a lot of flare chairs no swipes tho.
damn baek is rediculus!!!

power and style are NOT mutually exclusive

zeronine was much cleaner. baek trainwrecked a couple of times.
