Whenever we go for SSB on the first day before the screening, every candidate has to go through the PPDT test, which stands for Picture Perception and Discussion Test. As it is a self-explanatory word, In this, a candidate needs to write a story based on a picture shown to him and later discuss it with other candidates. If you want to be good with your narration and discussion, you need to write a good and reliable story before that. So, this test is significant from the screening point of view. Though there could be many perceptions to a single picture, we will try to put some of ours in the video.
Try to write a practical story and describe the events which could possibly be performed. You can choose the names you are most familiar with so that it could help you while narrating the story. Although if you could not complete your story on paper, you could complete it during the discussion. Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PPDT) is a screening test in the SSB. Based on that, candidates are allotted a time period of 4 minutes to write a story on the picture with details consisting of what had led to the situation, what is happening now and what will be the possible outcome.
As described PPDT is short of picture perception and description test, candidates will be shown a random picture on which candidates have to write a story in a brief amount of time then each candidate has to take part in a group discussion with fellow candidates where they have to discuss their stories with each other and in conclusion, they have to decide whose story was the best or come to a consensus to make a common story. In PPDT a candidate’s narrative capability is put under test along with his communication skill, technically it doesn’t matter in what language he is speaking (English or Hindi) but how better he is speaking. But, it is suggested to stick to English. A candidate has to show the properties of an efficient speaker in a group. During PPDT a bit hazy or blurred picture is shown to the candidates for about 30 seconds. In about next one minute candidates have to write down the details that have noticed in the picture, it will help them in narrating the story (This part is bringing out the perception from the PPDT).
Tips on How to Clear PPDT
In PPDT, once the narration is started, assessors should not be interrupted by any of the candidates it will result badly for the whole group. It’s the group members’ responsibility to handle the discussion without outside help.
Candidate should narrate his story within one minute.
If the group discussion becomes a fish market, a candidate should try to calm everybody down and continue the discussion in a well-mannered way.
Don’t let the discussion go away from the discussion topic of PPDT, try to interrupt very carefully because interrupting in these kind of situation can go both ways for a candidate.

Chest no 9’s story as well as narration both was good but he should have been more careful while mentioning the age of the major. I’m sure he knows that a 23 yr old can’t be one.

After ncc c certificate you'll have chances to appear for ncc special entry, cds, afcat (24 yrs. each max age). if you simultaneously pursue llb after grad., you'll have ssb attempts for jag till 27 yrs of age
