    Yes these are hard. I did four tire that were low profile. On a different type of machine. It a while but I got it done. I've done tires for awhile and these types of r difficult. He got lucky he using nice machine. NICE job.

      Nice job? Nice machine? The good shops have touchless machines and did you see home boy mangle the wheel multiple times! I can’t believe anyone would let him touch a nice wheel but this is a dark shop it appears

    This is NOT an easy task.. even for the so called master techs is still a problem.. these tires are a nightmare and you run the risk of damaging the tpms sensor.. it's either do it fast and dedroy the sensor or do it at your own pace and methodically..

    I did a 26" wheel with 25 series tire by hand because the machine couldn't do it. The trick is to know how tires work on rims. Lower the opposite side below the big lip to allow the tire slip over the wheel. Not sure if that was clear but I still do them by hand. Although I'm not a tire technician anymore. I do construction now but I still save money by doing it at home manually.

      I plan on installing my 275/25/26 tires myself as well very soon (can't find ANY shops in my area that can do 26's). Putting them on seems pretty easy but how about taking off the old tires on 26's?

    I do low profile all the time on a coats Apx 80 and it’s not that difficult once you get it down. He did all right but should of done a few things differently. I always no not and dismount with the outside of the rim facing me.

    • @Fas113
      @Fas113 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Its upside down rim, thats how u do it u cant get dire off when the otherside is faceing u there is to type of wheel. And yes that was way to slow, we do whole car in 20 min u dont even need a fanci machine. Just need good spray lube.

    • @robertficek7586
      @robertficek7586 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can tell which way the rim should be clamped because the drop center is higher on the back, it's a bit odd but this is an after market rim so style and having the larger barrel and larger apperance in front was probably the logic to that rim.

    With his technique wouldnt it be better to use two metal rods instead one when demounting the tire? Wouldn’t it keep the tire from going back down like it did? Worked half a year in a tireshop and always hated customers with LP Tires lol

      The tech is rated to handle low profile tires, not the machine. If you know what you’re doing, anything with a duckhead will work. Lube, assist arms, patience, and care.

    So here's my question to my fellow techs. Here is what I use at my shop
    1 jack $300
    1 air gun $350
    Air hose $25
    Air compressor $3000
    Coats Ex70 series $15,000
    Plus human labor cause tire isn't going to mount itself.
    How much do you charge to mount and computer balance this tire?
    I charge $30 each and that includes tires disposal (and i think that's still cheap). My shop is in socal.

    • @mkvingti

      Your product is priced under the market but it depends on your client. I worked in a chain store and we charged 20 for install and 3.50 for disposal. People would still complain about the price. We simply would tell them the shop half a mile away would gladly do it for 40 and they always were in disbelief.
      It got to be to the point where people would tip us cash as they saw us struggle with stupid 30 profiles, etc.
      Management was not happy but not unhappy enough to pay us more or price the product correctly!

    • @robertficek7586

      I would say anything with a 45 and smaller profile needs a helper arm, the side walls are too stiff, there are some plastic curved wedges you can buy and clip around the rim which might work to get the bead to drop down without an arm, maybe 3-4 of those could help
