Bring the fifty project to Switzerland. Let's film some epic adventures. 🇨🇭

Reminds me of a 48+ day at Winter Park, Colorado before it went corporate. A 46+ day at Loveland Basin, Co. with my brother Steve. It snowed so much so fast that they couldn't open the lifts until 1PM! One day back in the early 70's when I had never really skied deep powder at A Basin, Co. in over 3 feet. I was with my other brother George who had never skied in powder either. We only had blue jeans with long johns and were so totally soaked by the end of the day that my long johns and legs were dyed blue. I'm 74 now and taking care of my 95 year old mom, but damn I miss those days!
Thanks for breaking down terrain management in this episode. The backcountry can be a treacherous place with this much snow-staying informed, making a plan, and sticking to it can help you go in prepared on storm days.
Always loved your powder skiing technique from the Salomon tv episodes and the matchstick movies. Great to see again! Love how compressed you get in transition
That was epic! Thanks so much for sharing. We hiked and skied some similar lines elsewhere near Tahoe City during that 3 days window. It was so beautiful hanging in the trees during that blizzard.
I really appreciate you breaking down your thought process when dealing with high avy danger days. As someone who is new to the avalanche world, it’s nice to see real world examples and how it’s actually done. Thank you for another great video Cody! Here’s to a good and healthy season!
Tahoe local here, we got some EPIC pow days out of that storm! Awesome to see this vid drop, wish we wold get some snow this year, I'm still mountain biking, haha!
Awesome! Good to see you guys skiing some terrain that us mortals could appreciate and get after. I remember splitboarding this kind of late season surprise storm cycle at Lassen last year and it was one for the books. Good timing on this premier and promoting the stoke with some decent storms on the way to Cali soon...
the boom bap soundtrack heavenly thank you that's literally my favorite instrumental music paired with the conditions it was like angels with powder wings babyyyy woooo!
Right on, this is what it's all about. I don't think I need any framework, be it a book, line ratings, or anything else, to enjoy Cody content. Just talk about skiing and go skiing.
Love the addition of Steve and Marie-Michelle in this one! Especially on the first, less deep day, you can see quite a difference between the very efficient former alpine racers and the film/freeride skiers... Back in my school days (~2000-2009) the only time we were allowed to eat lunch infront of the TV at home, was when ski races were on, like e.g. the combined races from Wengen etc. which sometimes took place on fridays. But in all those years of watching ski races, i always wondered, if they bring at least one pair of e.g. 95-100 mm wide skis for days when the track gets too much fresh snow and need several hours to clean out the racing line. I mean, wether you bring 30 pairs or 31 pairs of skis, doesn't make a big difference at that point...^^
Cody, you the bomb. Really an inspiration and virtual mentor to those like me who are taking the next step in their skiing career and getting serious about the BC. Have you ever considered doing courses? I know id sign up on a waitlist to get an Avy/Bc course with you!! Keep on keeping on 🫡
Beautiful turns by everyone. Very enjoyable to watch. Cody, I am curious if there are any subtle movements or body position you focus on skiing deep powder?
Lots and lots of stuff I’ve learned over the years. Skiing pow for the camera is a bit of a different thing though. The main way to ski pow is laugh and scream and enjoy it. That’s the best technique I know.
While it’s really kind to acknowledge Bjarne’s work-he is very good at what he does, I would have to say the radical departure from the FIFTY-especially in this episode-perhaps is coloring your perspective more. I would go deeply into the development of each episode and the process we go thru, but it’s not worth it and could be misinterpreted quite easily. Otherwise we will link back up this next winter for sure.
I’m sure this was fun skiing, but it is so f*cking boring to watch. So samey-samey, just like every other ski movie ever made. I’d much rather watch some side-slipping on hard ice on the side of mountain or even some rappelling down a couloir. I’m not saying you have to go out and try to be the next Davo Karničar, but something where the outcome isn’t a given makes for an interesting watch.

I miss those Colorado big storm days. Those are awesome stories!
One of the best lessons I've learned as a skier is not rushing out on pow days.
We love seeing deep pow turns, big smiles, and high fives from you guys.
Had me smiling ear to ear as I remembered some epic days in the Wasatch from last season. Cheers to some more days like this.
What a night. First an episode from Arctic Lines and an hour later Fifty+. The Bestest.
I’m sorry, this looks like good snow!? Who are you and what did you do with Cody!? Clearly AI.
You love to see it

Appreciate that. Big days need big planning!
Have you any plans to bring onX features to Europe? There's a lot of us left behind by Fatmap looking for a good replacement
Also Canada. Features don’t seem to work?
@@harrygrumbar4589I’m going to try the premium version of Whympr. Best substitute so far for the Alps
Cody is skiing powder. WOW.
but is this powder a classic????
Always loved your powder skiing technique from the Salomon tv episodes and the matchstick movies. Great to see again! Love how compressed you get in transition
Appreciate the shoutout, I learned a lot from those crews and keep trying to evolve.
Absolutely epic. Best powder scenes I've seen since In Deep and The Way I See it. Classic. ❤

You can tell Elyse been in some ski mags. The marketing turn is insanely guud

Stoked you enjoyed it, M!
that feeling when it flows over your shoulders is supreme.

Wonderful, it’s been so long since we’ve had that in BC’s interior
the boom bap soundtrack heavenly thank you that's literally my favorite instrumental music paired with the conditions it was like angels with powder wings babyyyy woooo!
Megastorm was mega. Good on you for the terrain management segment, too 🙌
Appreciate that! Terrain management is crucial.
This is just good ol fashioned sick skiing
Thank you for turning and not just straight lining epic powder.
I need a Enya powder segment!!!!!

Thank you.
I hit a 53" day in Utah in 2011 that reminds me of this video! Sweet
You are living the dream !
I can't believe the conditions are that good right now up in tahoe! I didn't hear about this storm on the news I gotta get up there!
Love the addition of Steve and Marie-Michelle in this one!

Absolute power team.
This is when chasing the dragon turns into actually catching said dragon!
Epic Tahoe session!
Thanks for the Opensnow promo! 🙌
Glad you caught it!
Awesome!
Great video, awesome advice, looks like memorable days, thanks Cody & Team!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Love the live premier.

The pow of dreams. Lucky lad
Trav stoke level at 11:48 is all time

Those skies look like toothpicks for powder slashing
Nice, thanks🎉😊

I miss snorkel skiing....
It’s a rough job, but somebody has to do it.
Who let Cody have fun? 😂
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I want to go skiing!!!
Beautiful turns by everyone. Very enjoyable to watch.

So as someone who is still learning avalanche safety. Wind slabs are still a concern with wet heavy snow?
16 / 5 000
Oh my god, it's snowing!!!
Pure Stoke!
Damn it! SPOILED! East Coast old college student viewer here that's broke🤣. Just a tad jealous!!!
You’ll get your chance!
trenchtown faceshots
frothing...we need snow in the Tetons! 😥
I'm not use to seeing so much of the tree trunks lol.
When the rest the world is panicking this is what skiers are doing
Incredible! For a minute I thought you were in Japan! 😂
Haha, yeah, the snow was so deep it could have been Hokkaido!
@ please send snow to Maine, we got skunked last winter! 🙄
i guess the snow looks okay 😓
Ba ba ba blower. Yummy stuff. 🙏
Buenos días C
Hopefully all that fluffy stuff melted quickly so you could get back to skiing ice and rocks lol
Its Squaw Valley bud
No. It's not. That name is not cool and pretty damn offensive to some close friends of mine. So drop it please.
Free your heel kids.
This isn't real. Cody doesn't ski powder...sufferfests only
😜😜😜
Nah mate, Niseko deeper, bro'
Not true. Tahoe is barely open right now. I'm from Reno and just no
Gotta pay attention to what y’all are wearing, no way to tell who’s who
Is Bjarne joining soon? Sorry, but somehow I see decrease in quality and storytelling since he is not involved.
