  • Tried my hand at E-biking. It's changed my whole perception on riding bikes, and makes me wonder if this is the future of cycling as we know it? When you look at the fundamentals of cycling, especially for enthusiasts and hobbyists, you realise that this opens up a whole new world. Especially in the case of bike park warriors and people who ride for the descents, this is the ultimate compromise! In the past where i could only manage a hand fun of runs due to time and physical limits, I now have the option to rack up twice the amount of fun and the ability to ride up the gnarliest climbs to reach those dream trails.
    I am a changed man...

    i would ride my dirt bike everywhere if i was allowed to. thats the only reason i want one of these. It's the closest you can get to the dirtbike experience without getting in trouble.

    This is my next bike. I'm only 28 but my knees are shot from football and can't keep up with my buddies up hill. I'm getting it for that reason and to be able to ride longer all day rides instead of just one and done

      Your buddies will end up getting one too! Enjoy it man!

    Hi. I'm wondering how's the bike right now. I'm planning to buy one this year.

    What’s the camera you used here? And where is it mounted?

      A GoPro hero 8 black

      It was mounted on front of my helmet, under the peak.

      @@bunnywaugh brilliant
      I've been debating this for a while, whether to get a hardtail or this
      Sorry for all the questions but is this really bouncy on the road?

    • @bunnywaugh
      @bunnywaugh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well it will never be as stiff as a hard tail, but if you want to go off-road you have to look at a dual suspension! You can lock out the shock for the road, and modern bikes don’t bounce as much as older models.

      @@bunnywaugh that's a good point about the locking suspension, looks like this is the one!
      Seen video where the battery fell out though

    You're a great rider. I'm really noob in comparison and it's clear the rail 5 is more than enough bike for me. Besides the frame and power train is same as rail 7 and 9 bar bigger batteries? So if I ever want to I can upgrade the parts? Did you find brakes ok read a review where they found them not up to task or something. This bike tends to get overlooked.

    • @bunnywaugh
      @bunnywaugh  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The problem with most of the reviews is they are comparing them to top spec bikes they’ve tested. If you’re not going to be thrashing it down the gnarliest trails, the 5 is more than enough bike. The vast majority of components are upgradable so it’s definitely more than enough bike for most riders. Save the money and down the line IF you need more stopping power or suspension performance then consider upgrades. I’d only suggest the high spec options if you’re taking your riding very seriously or racing, but for general shenanigans and rides with mates the 5 will be just fine.

      The only upgrade I’d suggest is probably the tyres as the bontragers aren’t as durable as let’s say the maxxis exo casing tyres.

      @@bunnywaugh thanks man, wading into this hobby is quite full on, everything seems crap until you're spending mental money on a mental bike. You objectively proved what a decent rider can do with this bike, it's more than I will ever likely do tbh! There's something to be said for upgrading things and appreciating the difference it makes too, even if you can afford the better object/bike. The journey to the perfect build is an adventure itself. I just wish in NZ/Aus the gen 2 rail 5 625wh offering was available. But from what I recall when I rented an ebike talon with 400wh I did 42km with 35% battery left. Were some hills, not trail climbing but I was reading to get off the bike before the battery died!

      @@peterwood2633 yeah battery life will be fine, just make sure it’s charged before every ride and I doubt you’ll ever need a bigger battery. Also have a look at the fuel EXE, not as powerful but I much lighter and more playful package. Happy miles!
