the metalock process consists of a series of steps, that uses metal alloy 'locks' or 'keys' that are inserted into the cast iron across and at right angles to the fracture. The process is applied to a fracture, or to a complete break in the material.

Real old school engineering, there used to be a company called barimar that did this work
I remember watching an old engineer drilling through a crack in a block,tapping it ans screwing in brass rods,each overlapping the other
