Fascinating episode! This dissertation reinforces concerns that the state, by its nature, embodies the characteristics of the predatory beast. From its inception in Genesis, human power structures are deeply intertwined with violence and control. The biblical imagery of the state as a beast is not merely polemical but rooted in a theological anthropology that sees human rulers and institutions as depraved, tending toward domination rather than service. Even Israel, in its tribal formations, does not escape this critique. This suggests that any attempt to sacralize the state-whether through theonomy, Christian nationalism, or other ideological constructs-risks aligning with the very forces that Scripture condemns as beastial.

You should read Kline's Oracular Origin of the State. The state is a common, good, but corruptible institution as it is ordained by God in his common grace. Neither the Scriptures nor the Reformed faith teach that the state is inherently beastial and deprived of all good as a purely human institution.

During portions of your trialogue the song "Kill Em with Kindness", by Selena Gomez, came to my mind. Also, we are to, we get to fish for souls; it think a hunting metaphor fits as well. Thanks, men. 1 John 4:10,11
