Best review I watched so far for the Kona N Line. Really fair and down to earth with a unique Canadian perspective. Answered a lot of questions I had left over from watching the American and Australian reviews. Thank you!
Love almost everything about my N Line. The interior looks and feels great, the exterior looks great though I do like the look of the N a little better as it's more to my taste. The AWD is fantastic, the motor and transmission combo is excellent, tons of features as I got the ultimate package. I only have two real gripes, the first being no paddle shift option (which is a huge let down with this transmission) and I do wish the exhaust was a little more sporty. It's almost silent which is kind of sad in a sportier model. Otherwise I'm very happy with this purchase.
@@denfaro I did, I bought the N-line (the one in the video). The one you're talking about is the Kona N. The N only comes in FWD which to me was a deal breaker.
@@clifhellner1493 So far I'm really loving it. The AWD system is fantastic, the engine is plenty punchy for its size, great on gas even on a more spirited drive and the included options really make it a great place to be for a longer drive. Throwing it in 4WD lock makes it a blast in the snow too. The only issue I've had so far is the rear camera occasionally cuts out if it's particularly wet outside. That's only been recently though, I'm going to have it looked at when I book my next oil change.
Nice, appreciate the reply. Thinking of getting one. I’m in the US, so the finishes on the US version aren’t quite as nice. No leather seats, no ventilated seats, etc. Still a nice little vehicle though. Any issues with the DCT?
@@clifhellner1493 I'm in Canada so the AWD was important to me. The one I got has leather ventilated seats and they're great in the summer months. When I first got it I did baby it for the first 10k and the DTC sets up a profile on how you drive. I reset it and drove it harder after that and it shifts a good amount quicker now. No issues at all though. Another reviewer made some comments about hard shifts and it being wonky, but that hasn't been my experience at all. It shifted great when I bought it and still does today.
I just ordered a 2023 Kona N line in cyber grey with the 2 tone black roof and Ultimate package. I cannot wait to get it and drive it as much as I can. The cyber grey is an excellent color for the Kona N line.
This car is fire! Great car, I’m just not a hot hatch person although this car makes me wish I was. The 3 speed Auto with the fan is brilliant. I also like their Driver Only button in their hybrid and EVs.
I agree with your opinions concerning the n vs n spec I had a Veloster n 19 wheels /tires which need constant pressure monitoring and careful city driving also winter tires are a must and in 19 will be always needing attention the n line is better balanced for daily fun driving and with a good all season tire. lees headache your family is quite delightful. merry xmas
Just bought the N line Ultimate. Compared to a Subaru Crosstrek, you get WAY more bang for your buck. Spend 30k $ on a Subaru u might get an ashtray. 🤔
I feel bad that one of the disadvantages of this vechile that there’s no way to open the trunk remotely and from inside push button as well if any way I don’t know pls inform me
Definitely, I live in Canada, AWD really is helpful in snow (with the right tires of course). With the power in the N, I can’t imagine the power be of any use in slippery conditions.
2x more expensive for the tech pkg in Canada over the US price that doesn't seem right and to have LED headlights you have to buy it when they should be standard across all models. It seems like a nice package but priced too high i say.
That's exactly what I'm doing now lol. The Veloster N is a blast, but it's not practical at all and I need the practicality right now. I'm just going to install a valved exhaust on the Kona N-line once It arrives.
I still cannot understand why they change the packages around between the USA and Canada. If its based upon market research with focus groups, then the research is flawed...I don't think consumer perceptions for convenience features differ that much by lines of latitude...

Thanks!
Just bought this with a few extras for $29,000. Better than expected! I should mention we are in the states. Certainly is fun to drive.
Are you still enjoying your N Line? Any issues?

I bought one N line ultimate color cyber grey! And I love it😍😍! My best car ever! Very happy! Nice review! Have a great day! 😉👍
I just bought a Kona nline in Grey. Love it and the color makes it look like a more expensive car. 😊👍
Same !

Great review; the Kona has never interested me, but this one does. It looks more like a hatchback than a crossover/SUV.
I agree with your view of the Kona looking more like a hatchback....to me that's a good thing. I am getting SUV'd out down here in Pennsylvania .
@@cgmiddle Here too. SUVs have their place but not everyone needs one.

Thank you for your review from Australia... debating whether to get the Kona N-line or the i30??
I’m definitely thinking about getting one !
When would kona N come to Canada?
Very very soon. Early next year.

Need a Kona with the 2.0T and AWD. Either the N or the N-line is a compromise.
yeah, they kind of need to combine the N and the N-line together
@@SympathyRS Up here in the Northeast, these FWD only crossovers are not much help in the snow, so it is AWD only when shopping.

I just got two . :)

The U.S. Kona's don't get as many features, such as ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, and head-up display.
Think I may trade my veloster n in for this

The American version of the 2022 nline doesn’t get leather, no heated steering wheel no 3 tier auto Hvac. I got the ultimate package. ☹️
