I knew of Rory and heard some of his stuff here and there in passing. I knew the connection between Rory and Rush on tour but it wasn’t until your videos did I do a deeper dive into his music. I’m really glad I did… but I’m also disappointed in myself for leaving it for so long. However, I do have him moving up into my pantheon of guitar legends thanks to you. There are but a handful where he’ll be joining the likes of SRV and lerxst(Alex).
@@Roryreacts That’s a good idea, especially if you’re going to dive into GOATs of guitarists and other instruments. You need to start with expanding everyone’s horizons to other possibilities or they’ll just spout out the Hendrix, Claptons, Van Halens of the world and not open to much else out there. If anyone admits to being a guitar enthusiast then how could they not appreciate a Rory Gallagher, or a Frank Marino, or a Kim Thayil or a Jeff Healey if they heard their playing.
I can imagine you were pleased to hear from Alex that he was inspired by Rory, and that Alex was so close to him... and how cool you're named after him.
