It's like when children get crushes on adults and no matter what the child says, they still cannot legally or ethically consent to be with an adult, so it's the responsibility of the adult to draw healthy boundaries by rejecting the child's advances. Spreading the narrative that children are as capable of consenting as adults and can therefore be responsible for the abuse they face is so intensely wrong and terrifying because it has further effects on society: This is not the first nor will it be the last time when a child is blamed for abuse. It's a common narrative spread by predators and their enablers.

I saw a video (which looked like it was someone uploading their TikTok's) talking about how they were looking into how bad Colleen/Miranda was and so watched every single Miranda Sings video. Said that doing that their algorithm changed and the ads they started being shown were conservative/alt right/Christian messaging. Their thought was that the algorithm can't tell if something is satire/ironic or not and so takes the material on face value. The reason that they were mentioning that is that Miranda has such a young fan base and this is then the targeted advertising that they are receiving.

I'm a 40 year old woman. I don't have kids, but I'm an aunt to a pre-schooler and a teenager. I can't imagine behaving towards them as she did with you and other minors. I'm very protective of them. I also remember when I was thirteen, I had just gone through a massive growth spurt and was grappling with just starting my period, with my own emerging childhood trauma memory and mental health issues, with my self esteem, my crush, friends/frenemies/enemies of middle school, not getting along at home, the stress of being a bit of a latchkey kid and part of a paycheque-to-paycheque family, etc... and I see photos of myself from then and think of myself as a child in both appearance and maturity. I definitely wasn't equipped to handle adult issues.
Here’s the thing about the green face paint thing. No, it wasn’t black face. However, Colleen was a theatre major. I was also a theatre major. I took two semesters of theatre history - we learned about the history of minstrel shows and blackface. Maybe that wasn’t the curriculum at her school. But theatre kids KNOW about this awful time in the art’s history. The way her face is painted DOES resemble blackface. She could’ve done a million different things to show her character, but this was a choice. I don’t know, I’m not giving her a green light on this. She should’ve known how that would’ve been interpreted, even if she didn’t “intend” to be racial 😒

As a victim of a similar scenario, I'd like to say that even if the victim is burning out defending themselves and bringing out their story, they often do not have the privilege of taking a break. What I mean with that is that as a victim sometimes it's worse to "let it go" than to speak your truth and simultaneously re-live the trauma. Here timing and keeping the story afloat is important but also emotionally trauma can often make you feel like you need to tell everybody everything because you feel like you're bursting. It's important to take care of yourself, especially as a victim, but I personally think it can come across as dismissive to tell the victim to step back, especially when the sentiment is paired with implying your abuser is yet again stealing something from you, which sounds as if it's the victim's responsibility to not be taken advantage of. Not the intent, of course, but that's personally how it sounds to me as a victim. Speaking out is powerful and important and necessary for some, nobody would like to "waste" any more time or give any more of themselves to the abuser, but sometimes it has to be done. I can only assume Adam's loved ones are keeping him grounded and supported so I personally think we, as the viewers, should keep a respectful distance in regards to telling him what to do differently. I personally think we should respect his wishes in handling this and support him, unless it really took a bad turn and he wasn't receiving help or feedback from his inner circle (but we know he does).

When I was younger I LOVED Colleen/Miranda and I always wanted to go to a show and dress up like Miranda but my parents never let me and now I’m kinda happy about it
The thing about green when it comes to stage lighting is that it’s known (at least from my one high school theater class 6 years ago) that green appears very very dark, especially saturated green. In general you have to modify the stage lights based on what they’re shining on and how far away they are from what they’re shining on because from the audiences perspective colors can appear very weird using just white lighting. It was 100% intentional. She would’ve known that from certain places in the audience it would appear black, she specifically had the songs in that order so she could use the excuse of ‘its green face’ even though her intention was for it to be equivalent to black face. As stupid as her decisions have been she is still smart and knows what content she’s making and how to get the most attention

This Vanity fair article is enabling and continuing the cycle of abuse by attacking the credibility of children who have provided ample evidence of their individual abuses and highlights the systematic methods of their abusers. This article further endangers children by shamefully ignoring the facts and attempting to undermine and silence the victims own experiences and justifies their abuse by these adults by attacking them for speaking out. As it stands these kids have asked for nothing and we’re thrust into the spotlight by another source who went public about their own participation and without seeking permission from the victims forcing them to speak out about disturbing traumatic events and so far Adam and the others who have have shown extraordinary courage intelligence and social awareness that clearly this unprovoked article chose to print and publish in the poorest of taste and the disgust of most readers. Vanity Fair and this author should face the very real consequences for such a serious and damaging opinion of the actions of these individuals to the most vulnerable individuals who as children deserve the protection of all adults especially those who are profiting from the victims they create.

Your story is valid and should never be down played but I felt like I was being slapped in the face when I saw you at 13 and realized omg that was the age you were when this happened. I recently had to do some trainings to be able to volunteer with troubled youth and the one training around CSA and red flags for grooming behavior makes it very clear that a part of the grooming process IS to win the parents over. To earn their trust up front or convince the other adults during/after grooming that their kids are safe with them. That their decision making is sound. It's like when children get crushes on adults and no matter what the child says, they still cannot legally or ethically consent to be with an adult, so it's the responsibility of the adult to draw healthy boundaries by rejecting the child's advances. Spreading the narrative that children are as capable of consenting as adults and can therefore be responsible for the abuse they face is so intensely wrong and terrifying because it has further effects on society: This is not the first nor will it be the last time when a child is blamed for abuse. It's a common narrative spread by predators and their enablers.
Why would anyone even show lingerie in a livestream that they KNOW children will be watching and on. That simple. Northern Ireland being part of the UK doesn’t make their accents “British”. The people of modern day Ireland speaking English at all has a 600 year colonial backstory - but I’ve never known an Irish person to ever describe their speech as British.
Even on the UK mainland you could run across dozens of different accents based on class and neighborhood people there could describe accents the way Americans can hear the difference between a person living in Utah and one in Jersey.

Said that doing that their algorithm changed and the ads they started being shown were conservative/alt right/Christian messaging. Their thought was that the algorithm can't tell if something is satire/ironic or not and so takes the material on face value. The reason that they were mentioning that is that Miranda has such a young fan base and this is then the targeted advertising that they are receiving.

I also remember when I was thirteen, I had just gone through a massive growth spurt and was grappling with just starting my period, with my own emerging childhood trauma memory and mental health issues, with my self esteem, my crush, friends/frenemies/enemies of middle school, not getting along at home, the stress of being a bit of a latchkey kid and part of a paycheque-to-paycheque family, etc... and I see photos of myself from then and think of myself as a child in both appearance and maturity. I definitely wasn't equipped to handle adult issues.
Here’s the thing about the green face paint thing. No, it wasn’t black face. However, Colleen was a theatre major. I was also a theatre major. I took two semesters of theatre history - we learned about the history of minstrel shows and blackface. Maybe that wasn’t the curriculum at her school. But theatre kids KNOW about this awful time in the art’s history. The way her face is painted DOES resemble blackface. She could’ve done a million different things to show her character, but this was a choice. I don’t know, I’m not giving her a green light on this. She should’ve known how that would’ve been interpreted, even if she didn’t “intend” to be racial 😒

As a victim of a similar scenario, I'd like to say that even if the victim is burning out defending themselves and bringing out their story, they often do not have the privilege of taking a break. What I mean with that is that as a victim sometimes it's worse to "let it go" than to speak your truth and simultaneously re-live the trauma. Here timing and keeping the story afloat is important but also emotionally trauma can often make you feel like you need to tell everybody everything because you feel like you're bursting.
It's important to take care of yourself, especially as a victim, but I personally think it can come across as dismissive to tell the victim to step back, especially when the sentiment is paired with implying your abuser is yet again stealing something from you, which sounds as if it's the victim's responsibility to not be taken advantage of. Not the intent, of course, but that's personally how it sounds to me as a victim.
Speaking out is powerful and important and necessary for some, nobody would like to "waste" any more time or give any more of themselves to the abuser, but sometimes it has to be done. I can only assume Adam's loved ones are keeping him grounded and supported so I personally think we, as the viewers, should keep a respectful distance in regards to telling him what to do differently. I personally think we should respect his wishes in handling this and support him, unless it really took a bad turn and he wasn't receiving help or feedback from his inner circle (but we know he does).

The thing about green when it comes to stage lighting is that it’s known (at least from my one high school theater class 6 years ago) that green appears very very dark, especially saturated green. In general you have to modify the stage lights based on what they’re shining on and how far away they are from what they’re shining on because from the audiences perspective colors can appear very weird using just white lighting. It was 100% intentional. She would’ve known that from certain places in the audience it would appear black, she specifically had the songs in that order so she could use the excuse of ‘its green face’ even though her intention was for it to be equivalent to black face. As stupid as her decisions have been she is still smart and knows what content she’s making and how to get the most attention

This Vanity fair article is enabling and continuing the cycle of abuse by attacking the credibility of children who have provided ample evidence of their individual abuses and highlights the systematic methods of their abusers. This article further endangers children by shamefully ignoring the facts and attempting to undermine and silence the victims own experiences and justifies their abuse by these adults by attacking them for speaking out. As it stands these kids have asked for nothing and we’re thrust into the spotlight by another source who went public about their own participation and without seeking permission from the victims forcing them to speak out about disturbing traumatic events and so far Adam and the others who have have shown extraordinary courage intelligence and social awareness that clearly this unprovoked article chose to print and publish in the poorest of taste and the disgust of most readers. Vanity Fair and this author should face the very real consequences for such a serious and damaging opinion of the actions of these individuals to the most vulnerable individuals who as children deserve the protection of all adults especially those who are profiting from the victims they create.
Adam it was really hard to have to face the child version of you. I know that sounds messed up but I have been watching your videos and I am always seeing you the MAN. Your story is valid and should never be down played but I felt like I was being slapped in the face when I saw you at 13 and realized omg that was the age you were when this happened. I am 41 years old and to me you are young. So yeah you are young and it breaks my heart this happened to you. But seeing you as a child just was mind blowing. It shows how ignorant I am and I have a feeling others may be experiencing the same thing. I think the use of your last name in this article is interesting. Now other articles also use it, because it's a little less personal and more professional. But in this specific article I think it also has the effect of ageing you, they aren't talking about a kid at the time this was happening. They are taking their view of the man McIntyre, and projecting that back through time, as well as twisting and presenting details in such a way as to age you up from when a lot of this was happening.

I recently had to do some trainings to be able to volunteer with troubled youth and the one training around CSA and red flags for grooming behavior makes it very clear that a part of the grooming process IS to win the parents over. To earn their trust up front or convince the other adults during/after grooming that their kids are safe with them. That their decision making is sound. It’s a part of the process and the consideration of the groomer.

He is a big musical theatre fan so potentially a Miranda fan.
