My friend can’t read patterns so I told her to watch a tutorial for a bracelet I made and not gonna lie... it didn’t turn out very good 😂
I know right I was trying to teach my friend how to make a bracelet and it turned nothing how I imagined it to look 😂
I tried showing my mom how to make a candy stripe and she managed to get every color of the bracelet in a single row 🤣

I had not knotted for nearly 10 years and after a day of practice I was right back at it. Even trying new stuff I was learning through a macrame. I think everyone should learn how to knot though. It is something that you can do anywhere. I mean anywhere. If you use a safety pin as an anchor, it allows you to carry and work at any point. Granted, might not want to pin it to a skirt unless you can secure the skirt. I've even pinned the bracelet to a cloth chair once while wearing a skirt. Worked rather nice. I taught a friend who was trying to quit smoking, best thing to keep their hands busy.
Best base thread if you use DMC, get yourself 1 lb cones of Sullivan's Embroidery thread. Same quality, but gives you loads of thread to work with if you are on a budget. For intricate colors I use DMC which I use for smaller bracelets.
I use about 3-4 lengths (measured from tip of middle finger to elbow) for basic bracelets of up to 18 strings wide for chevron. Adding 1 length for complicated designs. Alphas I learned to measure out to length I want plus 8 inches to make the end loop and another 8 inches for the finishing end. I've done a double "D" ring loop that sort of worked out, (first try, still need to refine it) which looks like 2 loops Masha uses for her bracelet ends. I figure that might be nice for hat bands and belts. I've used the loop on a Dream catcher. Very nice, better than the length of string that looks a little tacky for the more delicate and elaborate dream catchers.
Cannot wait to rebuild craft table and storage in my new home and get back to the bigger projects I used to do with Macrame. With all the colors available now....

This vid is so cute! i remember teaching my older sister how to make bracelets when we were a lot younger. once i started making them she thought it was cool so i taught her how to make chinese staircase and candystripe ones! i loved making cute patterns like cupcakes and penguins and she was jealous that i knew how xD

I do my knots differently (the movement of the hands and fingers is entirely different) than you do, but that's just a personal style, everyone develops their own :)

Unrelated to the video, but I was wondering how to handle literally 6 ft of string.
Ik I'm late but what I do is fold the bottom ( leaving enough space to actually do the knots at the top) then loosely knot it to keep it in place!
