    Too much care isn't a problem but I just want to add that i mounted a pair of sliders on my CB650R without having to add support for the engine nor a back stand.

      Many thanks for your input. It's good practice to properly support your bike when working on it. Ask me how I know, lol. Re supporting the engine, again, this is good practice and greatly assists in holding everything steady and also helps in keeping everything in line for the reassemble of the crash protection

    Visually the engine on my CB650F looks identical as yours. I have my sliders in a different position to yours contemplating putting some in the same position as yours too.

      As far as I know Michelo the engines are more or less the same. The workshop manual I have covers both bikes

    Hey mate. :)
    Where did you get your torque values from? I dont have any on the user manual.
    Keep up the good work.

    • @BMCMOTOUK
      @BMCMOTOUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Luiz, the torque values were in the instructions provided with the kit. You won't really get torque values in your owners manual but all the torque values for the bike is listed in the workshop manual which is a book I'd recommend if you plan to do your own maintenance. Every vehicle I own I have a workshop manual for it as I do all my own maintenance. All the best!

    If your bike drops, do these sliders protect the air intakes and other parts from hitting the ground? I have a CB650R and am trying to decide between these and the large steel cage engine protectors.

    • @BMCMOTOUK
      @BMCMOTOUK  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The sliders stick out a good bit so I'd imagine they will certainly offer up protection to the engine, not sure on the air vents but I guess it all depends on what way it falls I suppose. I chosen these ones as they are sleek compared to the bars and don't really take any looks away from the bike

    I’ve tried to follow this exactly however, the engine moved slightly So the bolt position moved a little grrr. Any tips?

    • @BMCMOTOUK
      @BMCMOTOUK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi buddy, try and get a jack under the engine and lift it slightly until the holes line up, but be very careful so you don't topple the bike over. Also, make sure you tighten the bolts to the correct torque because if you over tighten the bolts, you could crack the engine casing, and then you'll be in a world of pain

      @@BMCMOTOUK thanks for taking the time to reply. I did just what you said and lined it up with a jack and some soft wood under the engine. Worked a treat and bolted simply. Thanks

    Hi Mate, I have a CBR 650R and would these be the right ones for my bike? R&G Aero Crash Protectors for Honda CBR650R '19- [Non Drill]
    I am new to Hondas so not sure if they would be the right choice
    Thanks

      Best to check the R&G website, but I don't see why they wouldn't fit. I personally didn't notice much difference (if any) fitting the bar end weights, but they do look good

    • @BMCMOTOUK
      @BMCMOTOUK  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi Mohammed, my torque wrench is quite old but any decent torque wrench would do. I would certainly use a torque wrench on this job because if you over tighten the bolts you could sheer the engine mounts and that would be a very bad day.

    BIG PROBLEM with the max TORQUE admitted for ALL this kind of crash bobins.... For R&g its 40 Nm. Half some manufacturers' motor screw recommandation.... What about châssis rigidity, etc ?? Nobody NEVER think about that... STUPID and maybe DANGEROUS.
    If Suzuki says torque must be 80Nm torque for my main motor Bolt.... i dont think replacing it with a 40Nm torqued Bolt is a good idea....
    I am very curious about R&g answer.... because they say ALL their crash bobins have to be torqued at 40Nm MAX.... but each différent bike has différent motor or frame screw' torque recommandations... So this seems STUPID / not serious and technically very hasardous. 🤔

    • @BMCMOTOUK
      @BMCMOTOUK  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm pretty sure R&G have done their own testing to set the parameters for their torque values. Thanks for your input

    • @Madprax
      @Madprax 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BMCMOTOUK I trust MUCH MORE japanese manufacturer like Suzuki, than an accessories seller like R&g... On my Sv650, main bolt that goes threw frame and motor has to be torqued at 93Nm from user manual....
      It would make a HUGE différence to trust R&G silly UNVARIABLE setting at 40Nm...
      Sure my frame rigidity would be affected, and my motor could moove / unscrew. Why would Suzuki tell us such a précise high torque if it wasnt necessary.??
      Sorry but your answer doesnt help, nor inspire any confidence.... I need précise and scientific explication. Not believe in amateur bulshit. 😉 Beeing "pretty sure" is not enough to risk my life.

    • @BMCMOTOUK
      @BMCMOTOUK  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I get that you're not a fan of R&G products, and that's entirely your choice which I respect but do you know for sure that the engine bolts that R&G use vs manufactures are made from the same material and have the same yield strength, hence the difference in torque values?

    • @Madprax
      @Madprax 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BMCMOTOUK In have nothing against R&g. I bought their radiator guards for all my bikes... i just try to understand things and make the good choice for my own sécurity and my bike... Dont you do the same ??
      What you say is WRONG. From R&g themselves, their Bolt has different "tensile strenght" than oem.... So its NOT same quality / characteristics steel. Sorry.
      My understanding is that they use cheap and lower quality steel = lower strenght bolt, not really taking considération of each différent bike torque needs. A R1 with aluminium frame is différent from a sv650 with Steel treillis frame... How can such an essential mounting Bolt be set at the same torque of max 40Nm ??
      If you look at Evotech bobbins, they say : set torque as manufacturer oem recommendation.... Evotech product seems to be higher quality material, to be torqued at the highest manufacturer needs, such 93Nm of my Suzuki Sv...
      And Maybe R&g is just not as high quality and trustful brand as you think and as their marketing says...
      The last radiator guard i bought from Evotech is MUCH higher quality than R&g ones... (and about same price)
      Only thing i dont like with Evotech bobbins is no cap = rain staying one side inside the bobbin = rust on screw...
      No product seems to be perfect / well thought / quality made / design.... Only expensive crap with big marketing.
