Journey to Trooper Island

For kids that have had parents or loved ones involved in the legal system, sometimes they haven’t developed a positive image of law enforcement. Kentucky State Police have a summer camp on Dale Hollow Lake called Trooper Island. It's a place where kids can be around troopers and develop positive relationships with law enforcement. While many of the children's families were involved in crimes likes theft and assault, the drug epidemic means many of the children are coming to Trooper Island with a different challenge making its mission even more relevant in today’s world.
