When I began playing piano 8 years ago I was very depressed. Well a lot has changed for the better since then. But lately I've struggled with inspiration for my playing. Your videos have shown me much and inspired me greatly. Thank you for sharing, you've helped a fellow artist continue playing.
Braxton, I'm really happy to hear that. I've also struggled with depression and have found that a mix of musical goals and exercise really helps keep the brain balanced. Best wishes to you in your musical strivings!
This is probably my favorite Radiohead song. Your version. I use to listen to this just because I thoroughly enjoyed it. Now i listen to it and on repeat every night for up to an hour while stretching myself. I pick out some of the dancers stretching and copy what they do while the deep stretch is eased with your playing. Please put this on Spotify! :) Cheers
This makes me miss my days dancing ballet. I wanted to be a professional dancer, but a serious ankle injury had other plans. I got Million Dollar Baby'd for sure. Great work as always, man!
so incredibly beautiful and true! I commented the same on "No Suprise", but again it feels like the piece and the piano player know my innermost feelings. Today I had to make a sad decision - the song guided me through it.
I first entered music as a trombonist(7 consecutive years), then bass guitar and drums(I'm a rhythm man). Your playing and timing seems excellent. I'm not trying to be critical. I enjoy Creep. Your rendition is not just beautiful, it's innovative. Thanks for adding more of YOU into it around 2:52. Your personalization is attractive.
If anything he showed less is more. This had none of the power of the original and felt more like an attempt to improve upon something by adding more. It didn't work imo, tallented though he is, it was less.
I think for Creep I just figured it out by ear. However, I'm working on a request right now for Sufjan Steven's "I Want to be Well" and I totally looked the chords up online to give me a starting point to from which to work. It's much easier to sing the melody in my head while I play if I've figured a tune out by ear. At that point yes, I've memorized it, but I don't feel like I'm playing from memory, if that makes sense, it's more that it's more connected to a singing voice in my head.
Beautiful :) I was wondering....did you have any formal piano education or are you self taught? Also, I'd lose my shit if you covered 15 step or lotus flower, just a thought ;)
heavypiano oh it was no attack on you. You made it something else and bravo for that. I was just saying more to the rest of the comment section. beautiful work from you. Can you do How to Disappear Completely next? I would say do more OK computer stuff but you already nailed No Surprises and Exit Music
I'm improvising on C, E, F, Fm. Sorry I can't be of more help than that. If I ever do get a concrete arrangement of it worked out I'll try to make a how-to video.
Thats awesome! Im a studying musician at Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music, my girlfriend is a ballet dancer here and we both very much so appreciate your work! Thank you for sharing!

this is so fucking special 😭😭😭
Were any of the ballet students like..."woaw this sounds familiar?" Or were they all just like "There goes Heavypiano again..."?
People always recognize this tune. :)
The second one. I work with dancers
I just found your Radiohead covers, and they're all so beautiful. I'm a ballet dancer, and I'm so happy to see that you play for ballet classes!
I've been listening to piano covers of Radiohead on TH-cam for ages and can't believe I've only just found you. Superb work and arrangements.

I never really liked the song Creep but still felt like it had a lot of potential. You showed us!
I think more people would appreciate it if it wasn't overplayed.

C est apaisant et magnifique, bravo!
do you look for chords and melody or you figure out everything just by listening and memorize it then ?

"Creep is a bad song." - Thom Yorke
Ha, I know. It's been done to death. I'd like to expand on this idea though and make something different.

Great video as always! I was wondering is there any way we'll be seeing some of La La Land melody stuff anytime soon?
Thanks! Ha, sure. I've been playing it for classes. People always love tunes they recognize.
