Over 10 years I watch your reviews now, and I even remember videos you made in your native language, with and without subtitles. As a German, I understood parts of it. You were part of the people who shaped and guided me in my passion of the horror genre. Even though there were always longer breaks, you are one of the very few who stayed. TH-cam has changed a lot over the years. Don't get me wrong, in a way, I'm glad you never had your big break through with TH-cam. Of course, it would have been great if you had a million subscribers like others do today, and you deserve it, but it would have changed you. I love you for the fact that after all this time you still bring your introduction at the beginning and greet us with What's Up Gangsters, that you still sit on your little couch with a drink, even though I kind of miss the old basement room with the wooden wall. Even the music never changes. I hope you have a good life and you are happy. Thanks for all the years and all the insights, recommendations, reviews!
Thank you so much for your very kind words, this comment brought a bit of a tear to my eyes 🥺Please know your comment is very much appreciated! Thank you for still being around after all those years! You are very welcome, and I'm gonna try and post a little more regularly this year. Cheers, gangster
Dude you never fail to introduce me to new movies. Your range of taste in movies and willingness to check out all sorts of obscure, old, experimental, foreign, and independent cinema really makes you stand out from the rest of the film reviewer community on YT. And you present your reviews in a very approachable, thoughtful and unpretentious way. Glad to see you’ve stayed active all these years; I’ve been subscribed and a Patreon donor for nearly a decade now-time and money well spent my friend!
I love watching your videos because it helps me discover more obscure or unknown movies. The downside is that a lot of times these movies are very hard to find to watch 🤷♂
God I remember watching your videos when I was a teenager. Loved how comfy it made me feel while also discovering films like Gummo and Eraserhead. I'm so glad you're still around and I hope you'll continue to upload. Geen haast natuurlijk
i saw Flower & Snake when i was in high school. it stuck with me but i could never remember the name of it. i really enjoyed that film. thanks for reminding me about it!
That's so awesome, especially the fact that you're still around to watch new videos every now and then, that's very much appreciated :) I'm glad you enjoyed The Innocents as much as you did, and I'll have to look into The Outwaters, don't think I've heard of that one before :O
I admire your passion for some of these films. Can’t imagine to be able to sit through some of the more „arthousy“ films 😬 But it’s great you doing it and keep telling us about these movies 🤩
Yo man, I've been watching your channel a long long time now. You always have such a curious and boundless interest in a variety of film. Thanks for all the insight and entertainment over the years.
I legit watch almost all of the movies you recomend, and at least 3 out of my top 5 came out of your recomendations. I love these best movies thing you do every year!
I remember watching you back in middle school! Omg 💕 I’m so happy you’re still on TH-cam 💕💕💕 so much nostalgia just from hearing your voice! I’m definitely gonna be watching your future reviews
I've been watching your channel for years, and these are some of my favorite videos of yours. So many of the films you talk about get instantly added to my watchlist, or get moved up in priority because of your recommendations. Please keep making these and your "Horrors of XXXX" series. I really enjoy watching them each year. Cheers, have a nice day!
I’ve heard great things about “Speak No Evil” and I really do need to check it out. Thanks for the great video! Can’t wait to see what you come up with in 2023!
Thanks again Jeroen! Shiva Baby was one I randomly found a couple months ago. Great coming-of-age film with suffocating elements at the party the main character attends. I started watching your channel in 2013, and congrats on your upcoming 15th anniversary. Cheers.--Adam and Laura
I've been watching for 10 years since your 2nd part of your most disturbing movies and you are as entertaining as ever🥲. Looking forward to future uploads.
I saw ‘speak no evil’ during a 20-movie marathon (amazing stuff, 3 days of pure enjoyment with fellow movie addicts) and this one was one of the highlights. Reactions were indeed very divisive but this movie will stick with you and is, in my opinion, better digestible for a mainstream audience then for example ‘funny games’ from Michael haneke. Love your videos as well (and now in Dutch: veel groetjes van deze halve Belg/Hollander, gruwelijke combo 😂 dankzij jou heb ik veel meer films leren appreciëren en de stap durven zetten naar extremere maar ook legit goeie buitenlandse films zoals audition, I saw the devil, enzoverder. En je motiveert me om ook eens dringend wat klassiekers in te halen van de echt oude films (jaren 30 etc.), thanks for surprising us with the occasional vid! Doesn’t matter how long the breaks are, the quality of the content is what we’re here for :)
I always get some great recommendations from these lists. ‘Ham on Rye’ is a movie I loved, but I probably wouldn’t have given it a chance if not for seeing it in a Horrible Reviews.
i love your fantastic range of taste in movies😂 ive been watching your channel for quite a long time and you keep giving me good recommendations! definitely gonna try the wax movie. and its kinda cool to have you check out in the mood for love bc wong is one of my fav directors
Great video as always, some really interesting titles to add to my watchlist, also some dear favorites. If you enjoyed "Shiva Baby" I highly recommend "Boiling Point" if you haven't seen it already, also "Soft & Quiet" really fucked me up and disturbed me, pretty realistic and highly uncomfortable one-take terror.
The Philadelphia Story is one of my favorite movies from that era. Jimmy Stewart was hilarious. Caveat had a ridiculous premise and didn't make sense a lot of the time, but it gave off a very creepy and claustrophobic feeling throughout and some serious skin crawling scenes that raised the hairs on the back of your neck.
I'm curious what aspects of the Dutch couple in Speak no Evil you found to be on point. I have mixed feelings about the film. I like parts of it but yes as you said I had a lot of trouble to suspend my disbelief especially with the way the parents handled their daughter. I would still recommend it though.
Always enjoy these videos! Have an entire list on Letterboxd dedicated to recommendations found through this channel (because I'm awkwardly slow at watching recommendations, and I don't want them to become lost in the abyss that is the watch list x)). If you enjoy nonsense so-bad-its-good movies, check out Ghost in the Invisible Bikini. Kinda slow at first, but so incredibly stupid and funny once it gets going. Watched it with a friend last year and we were both laughing out loud.
Such a range of genres, fantastic seeing you not only sticking to Horror content. I'd suggest watching It Happened One Night (1934) and Holiday (1938) if you are getting into classic Screwball comedies. Also the whole Decalog series if you enjoyed A Short Film About Killing. And finally be sure to check out the other two "Oslo"-films from Joachim von Trier :-)
Opinion on the Northman, the Batman and Mad God? [edit] Best films I finally got chance to see that I enjoyed was Shot Caller, Lost Highway, I Saw The Devil, Threads (UK), the idubbz/ Sam Hyde saga and Ghost In The Shell (rewatch after a decade) but this type of media is on the downlow of my time. I used to watch you when you started with the more black metal lower quality camera, went my own way, thought I'd resubscribe after seeing it on my gf's account (we used to follow the Disturbing/ Nasties series in the uni days). Made a collossal life-long list of shit and movies to watch. So I'd thought I'd revist and subscribe.
What's up gangstas? 😁😆😁😆
NAW MUCH HOMIEEEEEE

I admire your passion for some of these films. Can’t imagine to be able to sit through some of the more „arthousy“ films 😬 But it’s great you doing it and keep telling us about these movies 🤩

Just found your channel about a year ago and I love your videos. Keep up the good work man 🤙🏼

Greetings from Hong Kong❤ glad you checked out In The Mood for Love. Its one of my favorite films!
Hello Hong Kong! I was there for a week in 1994 I think. The last year before Hong Kong went back to the Chinese. Had a blast.
I still remember back in the day, I discovered Human Centipede, Martyrs, Serbian Movie through your channel.

Yes, we certainly did. Deb, you should smile.... you're pretty.
Great stuff man. You always introduce man to cinema I would never think to watch.
I found panna a netvor years ago on TH-cam and loved it. It's so gothic and a great retelling of it.
I always get some great recommendations from these lists. ‘Ham on Rye’ is a movie I loved, but I probably wouldn’t have given it a chance if not for seeing it in a Horrible Reviews.
i fucking love your videos. good seeing your place looking nicer. Seems like you're doing really good for yourself

Thanks for the recommendations. I will have to try soft and quiet tonight. 👍
I’m happy you still haven’t lost your touch

I love your content! and have been watching you for years! Would be great to see more of you in 2023 :) Are you planning to upload some new video?

I kinda feel like Wax, or the discovery of television among the bees is going to be my nextt favorite movie.
