For some monsters you actually NEED a Mage in the party since in the Previous DQ3's they learn at job class lv 33 and it turns the ENTIRE party Invisible so if the Tip Toe THIEF skill won't work for some monsters to capture turning the entire party Invisible may work.
As for the MOD rod that can randomly turn the party into like 4x Slimes that may possibly work as well as long as youstill OWN it since its a required item one that your FORCED to permanently lose.
