Boy was that a helpful tutorial!! Could barely care about the music-and I have ADHD! Thank you, Miss Sewing Lady, I had no idea what that foot did! Thanks for demonstrating that flip again as well very helpful
I just subscribed. Thank you for this tutorial. I have to hem my husbands stretchy t shirts and am very intimidated by my new Brother serger. Now maybe I can do it.
so what does that mean, you would shorten it?? at the end where it shows the thread through. I'm trying to hem a linen boxy top, and I ended up just running a top stitch with my regular machine because I couldnt figure out how to do this blind hem. It always shows the stitches through way more than yours does. What do you mean, you would shorten "it"? Please, please explain in another video or just a commnet. My serger is new, and I've never used one. I completed my first garment today! I was only disappointed that I didnt get my pockets square because I didnt know how to turn the fabric to make the corner, and the blind hem. I love your videos, if you can help. I would appreciate a response. Thanks
I *think* when Angela says she would shorten it she means she'd get the needle even closer to the fold to get the stitch that is visible when done hemming to be shorter? Then the 'blind hem' would be less visible. Anyone else think this?
So if I'm really careful, I should be able to do that blind hem with the normal foot? Fingers crossed and will practice first, I might even practice without the knife just in case.... Many thanks for demo :)
Craftsy has great classes. I bought a bunch of them over the years, including this one, which is great. NOT ONE has distracting music. Why they added it here? I can't even begin to speculate. Really bad move from an advertising point of view.
ok guys I'm getting my overlock machine tomorrow. . now i need help plz😇 can you do all sewing such as dress making on just one machine it begin overlock machine or will I be running back an forward between 2 machines? ??
You said that you only used one needle so did you remove the other needle or is there a setting of the feeder dials that prevents the other needle from being used?
Very helpful advice about tension, foot and preparing hem, have to agree with others background music not suitable, too loud, is it Irish ? otherwise Thank you
Thank you so much for the tutorial, just 2 clips on YT show this technique :) But I would really appreciate if people would start using correct terminology, serger that cuts is overlocker. Gave me nightmares trying to find the right videos :/
She meant that the stitch was too heavy for the fabric. It would of looked fine on a heavier weight fabric. But would be noticeable in such light fabric.
im having a hard time translating your lesson to actual pant legs that are sewn. It would of been nice if the fabric in the video had a more visible right side / wrong side.
THE MUSIC WAS OUTRAGEOUS! I had to delete the video. People watch instructional videos to learn and/or enhance their skillset. If I want to listen to music I’ll go to a club, theater or a musical!
I was considering doing a trial at Craftsy, but if all of the videos have music in the background, that's a deal breaker for me. I can't concentrate at all on what the instructor is saying.
The classes are definitely not this way. I've purchased so many, and not one has background music like this while the instructor is speaking. Really strange that it was included with their TH-cam clips. Angela's classes, in particular, are very informative. Hopefully this doesn't deter you from moving forward with Craftsy!
The instructor is amazing but the music its so annoying, focus on the teaching and not the music... it’s not a cartoon!... sorry 😐 i would never take an entire course with that music.
Thank you for your feedback. I have forwarded your comment to the proper department. We value your opinion, and it will help with the development of our online streaming community. We will continue to listen and work hard for your complete satisfaction.
You will want to replay the video because if you're not using the right needle you take it out. And she did make some adjustments to one of the Loopers
I love how you enplane each step. I have had my singer serger for 5 years, and JUST NOW STOPPED being intimidated by it.
This is me. I have only used it for basic stitches till now. I. Trying to expand
I just received my blind hem foot today! I just love the ease of using it too! wonderful tool for ease. :)
Boy was that a helpful tutorial!! Could barely care about the music-and I have ADHD! Thank you, Miss Sewing Lady, I had no idea what that foot did! Thanks for demonstrating that flip again as well very helpful
Thank you for that lesson. I didn't know how to use blind hem attachment. Keep sharing your videos ! !
Gosh, I love this, always wondered if my overlocker could do this. It's a three thread so will have to try it. Many thanks for the clear tuition xx
It would be helpful to see a video for a blind hem on actual trousers using the serger.
WoW!!! Thank you!!! I have watched so many how too’s and read countless articles on how to do this but it just did not make any sense!!!
love your videos Angela...I learn so much from you on its so easy and these videos...thanks a lot
This is great thank you! I would ditch the background music though, it’s very loud and distracting.
You showed us two hem samples at the beginning of the video, how the we achieve the more invisible type of blind hem?
Perfect 👌 now I know what that foot presser do. I haven't used it. I will try it soon. Tks
Bought sharply discounted pants and wait to reduce the hem with your suggestions.

Wow 😳 I have a very empisal overlocker wil it work🤔 thanks ma'am for sharing ❤️🙏🏻😊👏🌹🌺💐
Thank you for this. Just what I needed to learn!
Thank you for the help and tips - really clear to understand :)
Thank you, great tutorial but please turn down or off the music, it detracts from your voice ❤
Thanks for your video very helpful!
Who the heck woke up one day and said oh hey I'm gonna invent a blind-hem do-da
you are such a great teacher....thank you so much
I'm very interested to learn sewing machines style. Thanks for the instructions.
you remind me of Tracy Nelson; even sound like her a bit too.

It’s great that you can do this, but aren’t you doing the blind hem for invisibility and then you’re adding the bulk of the serging?
Thank you thank you. Brilliant!
Excellent tutorial! Easy to follow visually. No need for music, found it distracting.
Thanks. Good tutorial, but the music is a bit loud and distracting.
Good tutorial! Thanks so much, I paid attention to you, Music didn’t bother me.
Awesome video tho 👍
Can any foot be used on any machine model
Hi I have an over locker with two needles .could I do this with it ? Thank you in advance I’m a beginner
Craftsy has great classes. I bought a bunch of them over the years, including this one, which is great. NOT ONE has distracting music. Why they added it here? I can't even begin to speculate. Really bad move from an advertising point of view.
you are competing with the music and the music wins
+Eileen Lorson seriously. That violin is aggravating and music isn't needed. Hopefully Craftsy has figured that out...
Lol!! I chuckled so hard.
Can this be done on stretchy fabrics. 4 way stretch?
DAMN BACKGROUND MUSIC CAN'T EVEN HEAR HER!!!!
Can you add details on a stretch fabric with serger or it has to be regular machine?
what model brother serger your using
Hi ...Thanks for sharing 👍
Will this work on stretchy velvet?
Wow amazing 😍thanks much
Gracias, muy útil para mi!! Amazing!
Wow i didnt know it would do that wow thank you x
ok guys I'm getting my overlock machine tomorrow. .

Great instructions..terrible music!!! Ditch the music..
omg SAME! Horrible and too loud!!
I've heard worse and at least you can still hear her voice over it.
you've saved my day! thanks a lot ;-)
+Chrissies70 thanks so much :)
Just an idea can the music be turned off in the background.its hard to hear Angela.
What do you mean saying you "would shorten it"?
You said that you only used one needle so did you remove the other needle or is there a setting of the feeder dials that prevents the other needle from being used?
I removed the needle and the thread entirely but it would be nice if you could just mute it;)
To be clear I removed the right needle closest to the machine with a hex screwdriver since I lost the 1 that came with the serger
But just remember to tighten it back up after you remove the needle because that part was not fun with the needle breaking
Do the regular sewing machine feet also fit on the serger or do we need separate sets?
You need different feet for sergers.
Very helpful advice about tension, foot and preparing hem, have to agree with others background music not suitable, too loud, is it Irish ? otherwise Thank you
Is your sewing machine a 1034D?
Thank you so much for the tutorial, just 2 clips on YT show this technique :) But I would really appreciate if people would start using correct terminology, serger that cuts is overlocker. Gave me nightmares trying to find the right videos :/
great instructions.....awful distracting music.
Hi there! We appreciate your feedback, thanks!
So helpful, thanks!!
Know this is a old video, but what did you mean at the end that it was too "thick"?
She meant that the stitch was too heavy for the fabric. It would of looked fine on a heavier weight fabric. But would be noticeable in such light fabric.
im having a hard time translating your lesson to actual pant legs that are sewn. It would of been nice if the fabric in the video had a more visible right side / wrong side.
Great. Has anyone ever told you that you look, sound & wear your hair like the actress, Sarah Michelle Gellar?
I knew that she reminded me of someone now I will have to Google that actress
I agree, you cant concentrate because of this "background' music. Unfortunately we cant turn it off. I'm not even going to play it....
I heard music, but was fine. Great tip. Thanks so much!!!
THE MUSIC WAS OUTRAGEOUS! I had to delete the video. People watch instructional videos to learn and/or enhance their skillset. If I want to listen to music I’ll go to a club, theater or a musical!
You said shorten it if stitching was showing too much, do you mean shorten the stitch
wish they would talk about the machine they are working on
very clear!
hard to hear her over the music
Wow, thanks so much!
Great video, really annoying music - no need for it at all.
So what is with the annoying background music???
Does anyone know:
Can you use the blind hem foot also as a serger foot for raw edges?
The back ground music is very distracting
I was considering doing a trial at Craftsy, but if all of the videos have music in the background, that's a deal breaker for me. I can't concentrate at all on what the instructor is saying.

Great video. Horrible background music.
The music is super irritating!
The instructor is amazing but the music its so annoying, focus on the teaching and not the music... it’s not a cartoon!... sorry 😐 i would never take an entire course with that music.
It would have been easier to understand what you’re saying without the Hee Haw music 🧐
Thank you for your feedback. I have forwarded your comment to the proper department. We value your opinion, and it will help with the development of our online streaming community. We will continue to listen and work hard for your complete satisfaction.
Can barely hear you for that ghastly music dear.
Do you leave all the 2 needles and the lowerlooper and upperlooper as usual when doing the blind hem?
You will want to replay the video because if you're not using the right needle you take it out. And she did make some adjustments to one of the Loopers
