I could never turn them loose ! I have & will eat Catfish for Breakfast after a fish fry the night before ! Woke up in TX , Sunday morn & had a couple on my night stand & ate them before getting out of bed ! Even won a contest once eating more hot Catfish then any other in our crew of 12 guys! Grew up running lines all hours of the night ! House was about 50 yards to the river. So roll out when dad called & go get them. We kept them in a famed up pool in the creek by the house till we were ready ! Never caned any because then never lasted that long ! Some of our neighbors took their canning stuff to Michigan , caught & caned Salmon on the spot! I got some a time or two it was also very good ! I stand at the stove with paper towels & get fish right out of the skillet & eat right there . Little bites at first, so hot but loved them!

I agree on the old fishing line disgust, drives me bonkers pulling it up when I'm magnet fishing, thinking how many critters could get tangled in it and all it takes is dropping it in a pocket until they get to a trash can; does mean that sometimes I get free tackle on the end but..... Great job on the underwater footage, love seeing that, even the "abyss" part, lol! Nice video guys!

Nina..... Every who tries chicken always does the white meat... please try the thigh/leg meat.. I bet it will produce more results for you... Most stores have thigh or leg meat for grilling without the skin and bones for sale!!! It is cheaper than breast meat!!! Put a noodle at the point where the string got cut on the rocks.... tie a stick at each end, across the hole, to keep the noodle in place!!!!
Ok I have to say this. When Josh was shooting under water and then pans down into the murky abyss, the open mouth of the killer rogue crocodile rises from the depths toothy mouth open. Then black. Yes I love B movie horror flicks.
I wish I could come there and show you how to make a trot line and run it. You struggle way too much! I ran lines with 150 hooks in the Mississippi River. I would have about 6 lines up and down the river. Trot lines kept me from getting hungry!
You probably already know this but I always carry a "long nose" pair of pliers with me to hold the hook while trying to get a fish off, must easier on the fingers.........

Some say paddling upstream near shore, just enough to paddle helps. But that may be a wider river.

Fish swim upstream now paddling upstream you can see why the fish get so strong. Love ya girl
