    im confused? They dont eat the bear meat?

      Bear meat is generally great. You just need to get the internal temps up above 140 to avoid trichinosis. I was totally shocked on this particular hunt as I brought a cooler for the meat and had no plans for the hide! Definitely should have done more research.
      I have heard mixed things from different parts of the country on eating bear meat. I think it depends a lot on their food source. These bears were full of visible parasites and they strongly suggested not eating it.
      Some of the best wild game meat I have ever had came from canned bear meat. We filmed the canning process up in Oregon last summer and ate cheesesteak sandwiches with it at bear camp. AMAZING! You can watch that on the @wildfoodoutdoors channel.

      @@huntleague I was going to say, that seems like giant waste? Even the bears we have here in Northern CA are decent table fair. Im not throwing judgment at anyone, just threw me off. I would of guessed in that part of the country the bear meat would be similar to Maine or Alaska? Weird
