Pigini sounds very warm, heavier and round ideal for slow and calm music... Jupiter sounds more clear, more vibrant, maybe suits better for more vivid/fast music... Both are great
They both sound fantastic! But the Pigini is maybe a bit more focused in the low-mids, while the Jupiter has it's focus more in the high-mids. Thats's what I hear on my studiomonitors, but the difference is subtle I cannot say I like one over the other, it's just a matter of taste.
Dear Mr. Sadovoy, I would like to ask you a brief question: First and foremost, I would like to admit how much I admire your musical performance on TH-cam and Spotify, how much of a joy in my everyday life your works are. My name is Jonas, I am a currently living in Germany, and I would like to learn how to play classical music on the accordion. With this in mind, would you recommend starting off with a freebass instrument right away? Buying a first accordion is an expensive matter, and I am considering to buy a freebass instrument as my first instrument. In your videos, you stated, that you almost never use stradella bass. I would appreciate you opinion on this. Thank you for your time. Sincerely yours
Nice Video! Why do you say it’s a comparison btw. Pigini & Jupiter when both voices are Russian though? Comparing Pigini original Voices with Jupiter would have definitely made a big difference in sound colorings and be more accurate as for us listening the only notable difference is in sound and not mechanics. What I’m trying to say: Jupiter and Pigini are different Instruments both very good in their own way. Most of the differences except sound you have to play and feel for yourself. So the main thing you will be able to perceive as a listener is sound (and looks😅). Sound wise the Instrument you have is not Pigini so I just find it inaccurate that you label it Pigini vs. Jupiter. Keep up the great videos ;)
Hello! Thanks for your comment. Yes, maybe it’s kind of inaccurate but all the reeds in my Pigini are made by Alexey Gavrilin who was officially working for Pigini making the reeds for Pigini Mythos
I don't think the test is comparable. You play the jupiter better. The recording setup is working for it better. It sounds to me like the pigini is on a different microphone. I also am not sure the humidity etc for it is as right. I do not know all the materials used. Do you play one of the instruments more often?
I read that this is not an accordion as it is made and used in Western Europe, rather a bayan, which is made and used in Russia and Eastern Europe. I looked up on google and found following: Function and playing style: The bayan is the sister of the accordion, which is popular in Russia and Eastern Europe. While the accordion known in german-speaking countries has keys and buttons, the bayan is a pure button accordion. It is operated using button strips on both sides: On the right you can control tones such as "organ" or extremely high or low registers, on the left you play the accompaniment. The sounds themselves are created, as with the accordion, with the help of an air stream. This is created by pressing and pulling a bellows, which is located in the middle. The wind that is created flows through air chambers and causes so-called reeds to vibrate. This is how the sound is created. History of development: The principle of the bayan, the freely vibrating reeds, originally comes from China and Japan. There, people played mouth organs called "sheng" or "sho" three thousand years ago. These instruments first appeared in the West at the end of the 18th century and were eventually equipped with bellows and bass keys. Precursors of the bayan were probably developed in Russia in the 1870s. However, it only received its name later, probably from the Russian instrument maker Peter J. Sterligow. That's why it sounds like an organ. I have to admit, I've never heard of the Bajan before. I'm so impressed by this instrument and of course by the Bajan-musician!
Both sound are great not like the other cheap accordion. The other cheap accordion sound could hurt your ear. That why many people hate it. It because the cheap accordion really damaged the reputation of the accordion. Make many people misunderstanding think the accordion is an awful sounding instrument. Anyway I still prefer the sound of the PIGINI. It because it sound like a full pipe organ playing in the cathedral. The Jupiter is sound a little quiet and lack of layer. Hello Mr. Sergey Sadovoy can you try sampling the sound(include all register) of the PIGINI accordion for Musescore? Thank You
@@johntaliaferrothompson6052 the "body" of the accordion is the Pigini Sirius, but the reeds are not the italian reeds used by Pigini. A Russian Handcrafter put his reeds. In Russia they usually use a particolar type of reed that are in a single plate.

@@sergeysadovoywhat about the Pigini series mythos? Maybe you don’t know it but is a collaboration between Pigini and the constructors of russian voices.

Excellent performance on instruments and perfect sound.

I play on a Silberbach (5 choir's + Cassotto and A Mano) with Limex MPRX, Soundboard G5+ and Mexboard! But this Accordions a very great!
Me gustan ambos.

Weight, size and air effectiveness are the factors to rate them. I think the Jupiter produces the best sound for the least amount of effort.

Crazy I didn’t know he was the one who made the Mythos reeds, definitely two amazing instruments you have :) Thank you for clarifying
I can hear the Jupiter is Russian Bayan. Pigini has more resemblance to Organ.
Jupiter always seems to just have a bit more volume on those base notes. Both are beautiful instruments though.

No one makes an accordion as good as the Italians. I think Bugari’s are the absolute top.

I was testing Pigini, Bugari and other brands in Castelfidardo two months ago. I have chosen Bugari Spectrum. I think Pigini a bit over advertised...
