That's an amazing quote. I paraphrase, but, if you want it, it's heaven. If you don't want it, it's a penance and hell. That could be said about a great many things and probably a secret to life......
This is absolutely sick. Was reading Jimmy's interview about Meru and other things the other day, and it was truly inspiring. This looks like a hell of a lot of fun!
Being scared of heights extremely bad, this is my worst nightmare and would never ever be able to do this. Standing on top of my 4runner I start freaking out. Can’t imagine doing this.
To all the people asking "how do they set it up in the first place?" - it's easy. Just climb to the top of the mountain, set up the tent, jump off the edge, and slam the tent spikes into the side of the mountain as you're falling with the tent.
There's two ways of shitting on a cliff, either you drop trow and just let it fall down or you shit on a rock and then throw the rock. Alex Honnold described this in an interview, LOL.
They're all still anchored to the wall so no a millimeter of nylon doesn't prevent them falling if they're other gear does than yes they'll fall. I got a view like that without having to climb up there thanks to guys like you lol.
So at 20,000 terror and joy look just about the same... I love this kind of understated clip. SO much more effective before someone cuts and scores it. Really glad there’s TH-cam. I now know I’m definitely NOT a mountain climber.
im frozen in fear watching this.even if i wanted to do this my heart and body would tense up. huge fear of heights. these guhs sound lime they are from cali i could be wrong but even if they are you still have to give them a lil props
How do they pack up the tents and move them up the mountain after they have been used? How do they even mount them? I mean I know there are hooks and latches for the tents to be attached to the mountain but how do the people physically do that?????
As a person who has zero fear of height's, I would totally be willing to tackle a climb like this. But it would and will take A LOT of training to do this, and for very good reason.
i wanna see a vid of them packing all that back up before they continue up...
trippin916 and see a vid they build the tent
It's all on their menu DVD for $10. It's an amazing piece of art.
2 more days of packing up than continue
go watch MERU on netflix
Jorge Lopez is this from THE Meru film?
then all the sudden Alex honnald knocks on your tent with no rope and asks for a chalk bag because he forgot his
Such underrated comment lmao
😂😂
😂😂😂
Honnold doesn't do ice climbing, totally different stuff here. He's a big wall climber.
Thimira Bandara arnt you a lil killjoy :)
I would be that guy that accidentally drops something
Yea myself XD
lol, same. id be on the ground way below watching. at least not on the side of the cliff, maybe watching from a peak across,
"Oh shit I dropped something"
"what?"
"the tent"
"Oh shit I dropped something"
"what?"
"jimmy"
"Oh shit I dropped something"
"what?"
*clinging on for dear life* "MYSELLLFF!!"
WHY IS HE JUST CHILLING ON THE EDGE LIKE THAT. STOP.
He’s trying to get some fresh air while dealing with his buddy’s stinky feet
@@undrwrldsk8fred Those boots hanging off gives md anxiety
The gentle score they used for this scene was absolutely perfect. Fit the mood and enchanted setting so well.
Absolutely terrifying, I'm deathly afraid of heights. Congrats to these guys, that's amazing.
I wanna see them actually construct and set it up
Watch "Meru" the documentary. It's excellent and you see them
Watch Meru and you can see what happens when it breaks in the middle of the night 😆
@@rizzorizzo2311 so sketchy eh lol
I watched this in my nice warm bed, Made it so much more comfortable lol.
OH hell to the fuck no. My body is screaming and I'm just watching it on a screen.
You gotta admit though that the view is spectacular... If you say no, you're just lying to yourself. :D
speed racer I
speed racer that's a place where I would want to have sex lol
Me too 😨😨
@@kikopower I'm sure the view would also be great as your hurtling towards the ground if you fall out of that thing.
That's an amazing quote. I paraphrase, but, if you want it, it's heaven. If you don't want it, it's a penance and hell. That could be said about a great many things and probably a secret to life......
Bam Chug Some of the best things in life are found on the other side of fear.
Abel Ramirez I still wouldn't want to spend a bunch of days on the side of a mountain. It has nothing to do with fear. It's everything to do with nope
there is more than one secret.
“Where do you get a view like that” all I was focusing on was the guys foot in the shot
Awkward.
I get scared to death just from watching this
*looks at your profile pic* 😃
This is absolutely sick. Was reading Jimmy's interview about Meru and other things the other day, and it was truly inspiring. This looks like a hell of a lot of fun!
I just finished watching Meru.... Inspiring !
one of the best climbing movies ever. i'm not a climber but this mountain just has something mystical that attracts me. highly recommended.
Being scared of heights extremely bad, this is my worst nightmare and would never ever be able to do this. Standing on top of my 4runner I start freaking out. Can’t imagine doing this.
That view is absolutely crazy it looks like a whole different planet they're at.
i love how chill these two are u can tell the dont give a sh!t
This documentary was amazing. Currently on Netflix.
What is it called
Imagine _doing it_ up there.
You look like you have to imagine doing it anywhere
More than the mile high club
20,000 feet high club
imagine getting conceived up there
I swear I smiling from here..😷
i cried to this movie i celebrated their achiement....love jimmy
Imagine smoking too much weed or drinking while you're up there
Kollin Makanvand seems like he already did lpl
If you watch the full documentary, the do smoke weed.
pokesprite266 no they smoke a cigarette to lessen their appetite
Not Kian omg I would definitely try if I wasn’t afraid of falling there bugging
Not Kian you would be kinda stupid to do that in the first place to be honest
Absolutely fascinating.
Meru was such a good film, totally inspiring!!!
all the people on here calling them idiots and "a little wind and RIP" know absolutely nothing about climbing
A lot of people are here because they don't know much and are interested at what yall do! Myself included :D
well if the wind does come through and blow your little tent around the mountain side, you would have a bad time and possibly fall.
I know that it is stupid.
It's you're not your moron.
Electronics For Fun it really happens but the tent are so well anchored nothing like that has ever happened ! The climbers call it the bull ride 🤣
To all the people asking "how do they set it up in the first place?" - it's easy. Just climb to the top of the mountain, set up the tent, jump off the edge, and slam the tent spikes into the side of the mountain as you're falling with the tent.
Thanks! I was really curious
Wait what
were do they shit????
Lololololololololllllollol
Reptilian Elder of the Reptilian Brotherhood They use pampers
There's two ways of shitting on a cliff, either you drop trow and just let it fall down or you shit on a rock and then throw the rock. Alex Honnold described this in an interview, LOL.
Why don't you get under them, look up and shout up at them REAL LOUD and ask them?
the side of a mountain
Thanks for the view and the tour of your accommodations! Outstanding...
amazing.thanks for sharing
They're all still anchored to the wall so no a millimeter of nylon doesn't prevent them falling if they're other gear does than yes they'll fall. I got a view like that without having to climb up there thanks to guys like you lol.
max respect for these guys.
“Where do you get a view like that!?” - dudes toes front in the shot! Ahaha pure Jimmy
Imagine if you got up half asleep to go take a leak and stepped out the tent
That is why they wear their harness and are clipped in, even while resting/sleeping.
What if the ‘platform’ fails?
wow. Just simply wow.
So at 20,000 terror and joy look just about the same... I love this kind of understated clip. SO much more effective before someone cuts and scores it. Really glad there’s TH-cam. I now know I’m definitely NOT a mountain climber.
It’s scored right?
You’re right, it is scored. This isn’t the clip I remember commenting on.
That view!!
That hotel room has one crazy view.
well done, amazing achievement
It would be so dope to smoke a bowl and listen to some tunes up there.
to anyone who hasn’t seen this movie i highly recommend it
im frozen in fear watching this.even if i wanted to do this my heart and body would tense up. huge fear of heights. these guhs sound lime they are from cali i could be wrong but even if they are you still have to give them a lil props
one from cali the other 2 from montana
Just wow.
Wow! Truly amazing!
Meru is a great movie
What if you're a sleepwalker?
Kappa then thank God you're tied to the tent
what if he a sleepwalker who unhooks the tent lol
They are climbers and they sleep-climbing.
Lmao!! At these comments... yall watch too many loonie toons.
om gggg
That looks like soooo much fun!!!!!
"we got solar see we can be environmentally conscious." or maybe because there aren't any outlets on the side of a mountain?
Does that include hammering anchors into the rock face ?
look up sarcasm and joke
The utter ineptitude of some individuals to comprehend sarcasm is truly baffling.
They could be using batteries. So, next to batteries yes. It’s environmentally conscious to use solar.
Whose Divine Is It Anyway? No they couldn't, because batteries weigh too much
I will just stick to primitive tent camping at big bend!!
Those guys are crazy
My anxiety kicked in just by watching this :))
Fabulous ❤
This is awesome
unbelievable
Amazing. Takes some serious sack to do what they do. I could never because my mind won’t let me.
That bathroom is nicer than mine!
Don't get me wrong that's a beautiful view and a life changing experience for sure but my stomach just flipped upside down
I'm taking this off my bucket list. I accidentally fell out of my bed this morning.
Those guys are pretty brave
Very nice. But how they take a dump?
What a beautiful life to live... Soooo much fun..
How do they pack up the tents and move them up the mountain after they have been used? How do they even mount them? I mean I know there are hooks and latches for the tents to be attached to the mountain but how do the people physically do that?????
you stick stuff between cracks and hope it does not come out :) look for traditional climbing for more info on that
"hope it does not come out" Good christ
You can also use rock drills, but yeah, it's mainly sticking stuff in rocks and hoping it doesn't stop sticking.
I couldn't breathe the whole time
Love the selling point 🤣 and the price
RIP sleepwalkers
It's beautiful but the only urge I have seeing this.... "Get me down quick and safe"
i suddenly got an urge to go poop.
lol its been 3 years now, you can go to the bathroom now and let it go now.
I get dizzy for real, just watching this.
You wouldn't want to start a "kitchen fire" with all that nylon around on the side of a cliff
DUDE!
Watch Meru, all time best.
Nice 🙏🙏🗡️💯🙏
I’d be worried the bottom of the tent would fall out 😳😳
No effin way, gnarly
HOW in the world does all this hold w/out becoming unhinged??
Fuck.That.Nope. Some mild wind and R.I.P.
you'd actually be surprised. high wind speeds can't knock a portaledge down.
Imagine you drop the things you need to get down
As a person who has zero fear of height's, I would totally be willing to tackle a climb like this. But it would and will take A LOT of training to do this, and for very good reason.
Noticed the "A5 Series" label on the portaledge home...
'Here's Phil. Phil the Bottle' Genius.
the pinnacle of human endurance, hats off to you guys
My dad actually met Jimmy chin
and here i am, trying to find the courage to watch portaledge accident videos
Silly bathroom, I'd pee off the cliff
Lmao that guy is in love with himself
I'd love myself with a view like that...
These guys are literally the smuggest, cocky wankers I have ever seen
+Steadmister General ... i highly doubt that. Seems like you're projecting your own insecurities/shortcomings onto them a little bit mate. Lighten up.
Sko Bird Thanks Doc, same time next week?
Maybe his dizzy from low oxygen in the air
If you havent seen the Meru film, and if you ever listen to a single thing you read on the internet - let this be it - GO WATCH IT.
In some point i respect them due to they are brave)))
cant imagine the smell of the feet after those 11 Days...
That’s why he has his head practically out the window
Obviously Ive never done this but if you roll in your sleep wouldn’t this just be like a hammock and cause you to flip out of the tent?
Solsist Roblox you sleep tied in to the wall.
Where do you get a view like that?
Where do you get a view like that? TH-cam and I am 3ft off the floor, got here by my stairs.
Environmentally conscious and yet everything in the video is made of synthetics. Whatever awesome video that has convinced me I’d never do that
Looks cool but I’m not giving up a kitchen & bathroom for any view
I'd love to know how they anchor the tent and how they pack it and carry it. 🤔
Also, I guess they only have dehydrated food! 😋
I am so going to do this!
Must be awesome to poop in those conditions... Maybe they have a hole for that in the tent? :D
Poop will freeze before it touches the ground, lol.
rzarectot7 do you know how digestion works bud?
Mr. Hyde shitcicles lolz 😂
Dan Gonzalez maybe they are polar bears
You pop in bags
People have fun in my worst nightmare 😬. 👍🏻
Would totally want to do this. Though I would have to train a fuck ton to do it.
Todo kamo crazy!
Its so fun until a little quake
they have made it
