You know, Jady, you are so right. Thinking about it now, I realize that I am constantly listening to other people's voices and this is probably why I have a hard time trusting my own. I barely know my own voice or what it sounds like. God just used you to give me revelation. Thank you.
I’m interested too, for me my biggest challenge is how other people expect you to have a smart phone. I had a job a while back that they expected me to communicate with them through WhatsApp and I felt so overwhelmed. Constantly getting the messages and I don’t like having to constantly read the messages but because I didn’t participate I was treated as an outcast.
This video is a God sent! Thank you Jady! I just started reading the book “12 Ways your phone is changing You” and it made me realize just how addicted we are to our phones. I’m over here limiting my girls screen and “teaching” them the why technology isn’t good in excess, yet here I am constantly glued to my device. When you said about us not being able to get back time and how we can’t buy time. That really resonated. We are so limited with the time that God gives us here on earth and this is definitely God convicting me on what he’s been putting in my heart. Oh and yes! Please do a video detailing what your day looks like without a smart phone.
I loved this deleted all social media a year ago but I kept TH-cam bc I love to learn. Youre totally right, I find myself listening to things all day-- as an extrovert I am always seeking connection but you’ve inspired me to put up my phone during the day and turn this off even more. Thank you Jady!
Yes! This is exactly what I needed to hear! It’s also hard to break away from the phone. I don’t like that it feels like we NEED it in our lives. Want to break away from wasting so much time!
Thank you! This is So true! Please do a review on going from your iPhone to dumb phone. I’ve been tempted to do the same! Just haven’t made the plunge yet.
Just assertive! As always! Jady, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Two months ago I caught myself spending 6 hours (!!!) on the smartphone, and when I realize the almont of time I'd wasted, I woke up! I've being doing many things throughout the week but I divided them into similarities. So, week 1 focus on study, week 2 focus on my projects. This helps me to not feel overwhelmed and still get the feeling that my life is moving. And about listening to other people opinion all the day, this is so annoying!!! Nowadays I appreciate so much a quite time, and listen to my own emotions and dreams. May God bless you and your family.
In this season I have been unknowingly mono-tasking! I have seen much improvement in homeschooling mono-tasking. I agree inconveniences lead to growth! A lot of what you are pointing out boils down to self control and embracing a state of rest. Which many don’t practice yet Christ teaches and the Holy Spirit provides.
I need to hear this. Jady I am a member of bloom sisters bc I know you’re a solid homeschooling resource. I’d love you to talk more about managing multiple children. When my 3 boys under the age of 6 get together so quickly, the noise level gets so high. They aren’t really being “bad” but playing, sometimes turns into issues over sharing but mainly it just becomes SO loud SO quickly. I love more info of this from you!!! I’ve been following you for years and all my homeschooling and many techniques I use have come for you. Thank you
I bought a phone called the “light phone” because my smart phone was a trap and time consumer. I now use my iPad as a laptop and check it once or twice a day for email and such. I enjoy my light phone and find myself reading more than before as well as getting things done around the house, more productivity. 👍🏼
I have lived without a smart phone, and have used a flip like yours since I was 16! I got talked into getting a iPhone about 6 years ago, and I prayed it would die on me so I could justify going back to my simple Trac. It broke the first year I had it. Never gone back since!! I homeschool and have six kids and a small homestead with my husband of 12 years. No social media or any of that. Life is too full to waste time scrolling
Sooo wise Jady. Its beautiful how you explained that its other ppl who are on our mind all the times. And they are from so many different backgrounds and v get influenced by them even if it doesnt suit our culture. And this leads to decreased self esteem and anxiety
Thank you for sharing this. We all experience the effects of this lifestyle but few of us realize it and want to change. God help us. I would like to know your opinion about extracurriculars and please do not leave this TH-cam community. You are a wise woman who is helping others find their way.
Yes please Jady I'd love to know how you do without Maps and all the information that affords: I really rely a lot on the real time travel information and route planning because I'm in the car a lot and an accident closing a route makes a big difference to our day.
I am so interested in how you use gos without a smart phone. That's my only concern. It's been on my heart to get rid of my phone or really dumb it down
I would love to come away from having a smart phone. The main thing that keeps me from doing it is that I have a daycare and I send pictures to parents throughout the day. Is anyone familiar with a good digital camera that has the ability to send pictures to other parties' devices? If I have to send it to my phone in order to send it to theirs, it would sortof defeat the purpose. However, at least that would afford me the opportunity to not have my phone by my side throughout the day, and designate a time during nap to send the pictures to them. 🤔 any advice for digital cameras that won't break the bank, welcomed 😊 it has been a LONG time since I had a digital camera😂

I would like to know all the tips too. I've notice the same as Jady
