Man, Solberg is a good looking prospect. There must be some hockey sense concerns or something like that that made him not go before 23. Because the way he moves during the drills makes it look like he's at the wrong camp, like he's an NHLer holding back so the prospects gets something out of the drills as well and to avoid hurting them.

The problem a lot of GMs Scotts had with him is he has not played anywhere else then in Norway. Norways elit league does not have a high standard. So its easy to look good, but would he look as good at a higer level? Some meant yeas because of how good he was at WC for men shutting down nhl players like Pasternak and Chicagos young star Connor Bedard. The others meant yes he looked good, but it was a small sample size did not want to risk using a high draft pick on him.

@@julienor9845 I doubt that's the case. You should be able to identify a player's capabilities regardless of the league they play in. You might just have to watch a few more games in certain leagues to see them in enough situations to do so.

@@bajjanitor Thats what scouts in the athletic said. I dont agree with you of course the leagues level have something to say. If you play against better players you job gets harder. Its logic.

@@julienor9845 Scouts that have their opinion published in the Athletic knows fuck all about why GMs make the decisions they do.

Lol what? The teams aren't evaluating the leagues the players come from, they are evaluating the players. Someone playing against harder opposition does not mean a player is better in any way. Like Bedard played in a bad league and he seemed like a pretty good pick at #1 to me.

Seems like a solid trade, if he can stay healthy. Got us to the cap floor and 4th rounder for a goalie who was a 5th round pick that will mostly never make the nhl.
