@@Fearless154 if you live in a big city with no highway commuting, a 160cc bike is perfect. I live in Brazil in kind of "big city" of 800k people, and since zoning lwas are different here, there isn't really a lot of highway commuting. But streets are kinda packed with cars and lane filtering/splitting is legal, so a smaller 160cc is perfect because it'll fit in any corridor in traffic, it'll get you to legal speeds and a bit above (most speed limits are between 40-70 kph (25-40mph). The perfect first bike isn't really about the motorcycle itself, but more about the environtment you're in X the motorcycle.

    • @OGBenji-
      @OGBenji- 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

@@caiobittencourt640 For USA riders. The issue with 150-300cc bikes is that there are A LOT of highways and freeways. America is HUGE and people not from here just don't understand how big it really is.
Most Americans are used to traveling 30 minutes - 1 hour just to get to work everyday. Most of us will be driving for 30-45 minutes just to go get food or go to a store. That's why America has such large highways and state roads with high speeds (45-55mph / 72-88 kph). Even in our cities, speeds are typically 35-50 mph (48-80 kph).
400-500cc, 650cc, and R7 are seen as great starter bikes in America. A LOT of people start on them and they grow out of them in 6 months to a year or two.

Kawasaki ninja 650 is what I got for my first bike. Only experience I had with was riding bmx bikes and 4wheelers. Learned how to ride within the 1st hour and then felt really confident after the first week. I have a pretty good paying job and got a 2019 ninja 650 in orange for 7,500 with 2,800 miles. My first bike was a 1990 GSXR 550. After years of riding motorcycles, my wife started to think she wanted one and I got her the Harley iron 883. I found it used it’s perfect. It’s lightweight. It doesn’t sit too high. It’s not too loud. And the best part is they make it so it can grow with you when you start getting more comfortable on the bike. They have a 1500 cc conversion kit. And there’s so much customizations for it. Even my mother-in-law who already had another Harley that she didn’t like, sat on this one and rode this one around and loved it

Honestly though that's actually not a horrible beginner bike and the reason I say that is it has a lot of new technology in it such as wheelie control, antilock brakes and traction control which those features are amazing to have when starting out but takes away all the fun of having a bike to push the capabilities now what I started on was not smart, my first bike was a 2004 Suzuki GSXR 1000 which was amazing and will demand respect if you don't give it ( had that for 2 years and it was incredible!! No close calls either) then sold her to get a newer GSXR which was a 07 750 which I bought cause it was cheap and clean, sold it a week later (didn't even ride it or put it on the road) then bought the arch nemesis to that Ducati and that was a 06 GSXR 1000 with tons of goodies (fastest bike ive ever been on) then sold that a year later to purchase my first 1999 gen 1 Suzuki Hayabusa unrestricted which I have now and is incredible! All 3 of those bikes don't have any safety fixtures no TCS, wheelie control, anti lock brakes no nothing its just all about the rider which i personally love. But sick bike man she looks gorgeous!

Don’t buy a new bike as your first bike. Spend 3,500 max on a bike with newer tires, and good brakes, lower miles. Take it to a good shop (not a dealership) and get it fully serviced, new fluids, filters, chain and lines. Don’t buy a bike with a carb. Don’t buy anything less than 500cc. You will grow out of 300cc in a month.
My first bike was a 750cc
Moto Guzzi Breva with 5000 miles.
    Cost $2250
    Mechanic: $450
Arai helmet with Cardo system: $650
    Boots: $70
    Total: $3420
R3 costs $5500 before the dealer costs.

I bought a 05 gsxr 1000 for first Street bike. One of the fastest years they made and raw with no abs and stuff like that. Everyone said I was crazy to start on that. What they didn't know was that I've ridden and raced dirt bikes for 18 years before that and have a huge amount of respect and restraint in order to handle a bike of that power. If you have a natural ability to pick up things like riding techniques quickly or have a lot of experience riding a motorized bike of sorts and have an imense amount of respect for the bikes power then you could be all set. The biggest fears are the others on the road, they'll turn your day bad so be careful, but have fun

You can pick up a used 250 Rebel for less than 2 grand. Ride it a few months then pick up a 500cc Rebel or a CBR500R new for 7k. The 250 Rebel is going to be cheap, light, easy to use and best of all, disposable. Practice things like tight turns, u-turns, leaning and breaking quick on it. If you do that long enough you will absolutely crash. If you buy a 1000cc bike then you will crash and also be broke. I trained on one that had 2 massive dents in the fuel tank from when the previous owner slide on it. I got it for $300 though.

Lmao I started on my Honda ADV150!
    Fundamentals, people!
Learn those FIRST before you hop on a manual bike. I’ve seen way too many beginner riders have accidents because of hopping on a 300cc or higher as a first bike, all because number one there’s too much to learn all at once, then getting cocky after a couple of weeks.
You’re having to use your right hand for throttle AND front brake, left hand for clutch, left foot for shifting, and right foot for braking.
With an auto, all you’re focusing on is your hands and body position, right hand throttle and front brake, left hand rear brake and that’s it. I rode it my ADV for 2yrs before finally deciding to ride a manual-got me a Honda 300L Rally.
And since I already knew how to balance, lean, steer, countersteer, brake etc, all I had to focus on was the clutch/shifting and rear brake. I’m telling you, it made a world of difference learning on a smaller CC auto first.

I have so many mixed emotions for Ducati's. Half the people i have know have bought one, and have had it in the mechanics for most of their time, on the other hand, when your riding them it is one hell of an experience. For beginner bikes, if your talking about 125cc, i highly recommend the Benelli 125cc. this could be common for ppl to say it but its really comfortable and light. If we are talking about higher than 125 for beginner. defo don't get brand new. and don't go straight up to 1000 or higher, work your way up or you'll be going from smth that is easily lift able and light to smth tremendously heavy.

2nd tier bike license is between 201-400cc
...3rd and final tier, 400cc and up
Minimum of 1 year in-between each tier before being allowed to progress to the next and yes, there are practical tests to pass for each tier and theory tests for the first tier, refresher theory lesson only for the next two tiers

R7 is a decent starter bike I'd say. It's torquy, comfortable and good in the city streets whilst also keeping up on highways if you find yourself being tempted.

About a week ago I bought my first bike a 2023 Honda cb500FA with only 8 miles on it and I crashed it the second day of owner ship I currently have 3 broken ribs and a broken shoulder blade…. Point of the story is if your parents tell you to buy a dirt bike first do it not a street bike….

Also need to keep in mind. A "beginner bike" doesn't _have_ to exclusive to a the sport bike platform. Not everyone will like the right height, nor foot position, seating style or handle bar angles.
It's also important to note that, because someone likes something, it may not really be meant for them, example being they may like a certain bike but it's not really built around their body style nor physical strength to handle it, like a 5foot 3 female, *blank* Inseam, with the weight of a bag of skittles. :/

Personally, I like to steer people to Groms and Z125, they help build good riding habits.
Larger bikes have a tendency to hide bad riding habits, some realize it, but oh wow is there a ton of riders with poor driving skills.

first "big" bike i tried was an R1 at 17 years old.. was used to a 150cc motorcross before.. the 600cc R1 was ALOT faster then my old forestmachine xD headed into a roundabout at nearly 60mph and barely made it trough alive xD tho i made it without no damage to either the bike nor myself.. rolled into a parkinglot to get rid of the adrenaline shakes, then cruised it back in secound gear and said "no.. no sportbike for this guy... now i have a 1200cc HD Sportster.. perfect!

R3 might still be too much, you want a sport bike but still a beginner one, go with a Yamaha R15. 155cc super easy, cheap and reliable, extra win, you’ll save money with fuel

No. Get a decent used dirt bike and a trailer if it doesn't have lights. Go to the dirt -- PRACTICE. (Preferably, SOFT dirt with no rocks)
Then get a street legal dirt bike and PRACTICE in places without a lot of traffic. You can put street tires on it, but it's not really necessary. Do the practice thing for a couple of years. And do it often, focusing on building your SKILLS. Then buy a lightly used Royal Enfield or Triumph (or Yamaha if you can find a good one) 650 twin. Ride it on the road avoiding heavy traffic as much as possible. Do this for a few years. (You might consider leaving it at that!)
During the above, try to make some friends that are more skilled than you are, that are not insane, and are able and willing to help you build your skills. Understand that if you are riding on the roads, you will likely have to do something to save your life or at least your butt, EVERY TIME you ride. Cars and trucks WILL try to kill you, or worse. (And yes, there's worse!)
Then if you just have to get you one of the zoomy bikes, go for it, but like they said, buying used means you will probably cry less. Because those racey bikes DON'T handle like a dirt bike, nor like a standard naked bike. So if you finally graduate into them, with a good skill set, and you want to play, then stay away from doing it in traffic. Get out in the country (good idea to have a friend along to call for help) and let it rip. Or if you REALLY want to use that rocket, find a track and see what it takes to get into that. Remember that trailer for the dirt bike? It'll be handy for that as well.
If you are interested and have never ridden, or not a lot, take the MSF course, and repeat as needed. If you go out and let your wallet go wild a get a new sport bike and jump out on the streets you're going to face a very steep learning curve and there's very little leeway for errors, and they are both expensive and painful.
Riding a motorcycle, especially a big fast super bike is one of the greatest joys you can get in life. Better than sex, if nothing else, it lasts longer. It can also quickly put you in a casket or in a hospital bed for the rest of your short, miserable, and painfully short (hopefully) life. It's great fun, but it's really NOT for everyone. Some people should just say no.
Be safe, learn, have fun, and know your limits!

I’m between buying a moderately cheap brand new Chinese bike that I really like or a moderately expensive new Japanese bike with lower specs, I’m a commuter/daily rider and have done plenty of research to understand that the bike quality and reliability of the specific Chinese bikes I’m looking at are as reliable as most Japanese bikes, but am concerned that other riders here may give me shot for the origin of the bike, haven’t seen any Chinese brand bikes being ridden here ever.
To rephrase it, I’m pretty much asking if you would give someone shit for riding a Chinese bike. Thanks.

You can start on whatever rocket you want. Its a matter of your strength to hold the bike or how dumb you are with your wrist. Any Harley is going to be heavier than a r1. And people start on harley. So idk.

I personally wouldn’t get anything below a 600. I went from 250 to 600 to a 1000 and doing it all over again I’d skip the 250. Too each it’s own!
