This log home is beautiful sturdy and strong. When you see a tree growing and wood is cut from it and homes are made from it just beautiful. Making a home out of this is amazing wish more young people would decide to go into carpentry. Really tastefully done.
The quality is unbelievable. I'm redoing 40 windows in my Log home, they didn't last 20 years. If I ever build another log home it will be a Golden Eagle.
The attention to detail here is astounding... All the work and thought put into this build is directed for the comfort of the occupant, but that doesn't diminish the aesthetics at all... Simply fascinating

I appreciate the informativeness and the reasoning for the choices. I think it would have been better to include the large windows by the fireplace as well here. I would have chosen different options on the windows than the owner, but since it's not my money or home, I guess he wasn't concerned about my taste. ;) On to Episode #3.
I have a question. I currently have a 25 year old log home with jack pine 10 inch logs. We want to renovate our kitchen and put in a bigger window. I don't have the plans to show where the rods are, so would I just use a reciprocating saw to enlarge the opening using a wood blade to find the rod? Once the rod is found I could switch to a metal cutting blade. Or is there a better system to identify the rods? Thanks,
Thanks for the compliment! Totally Built (Turnkey) Cost of the Log & Timber 2124AL Thank you for following along with this Log Home Construction video series. Along with thousands of others, you are probably wondering how much this great home would cost to build. Let’s go back to how this all started. This homeowner came to us, and really liked the Eagle Prow 1975AL. That stock plan would have a (♦ turnkey cost) of approximately $499,000 as an 8”x8” full log home. As with each of the 5,200+ homes we have previously built in North America, this homeowner began by modifying our stock plan because they were looking for more luxurious options and a larger home. With the help of our in-house design team. They increased the size of the home, upgraded to 12”x12” full logs, and choose deluxe options on nearly every single item in this home. This resulted in a turnkey cost of approximately $950,000.♦ Turnkey costs do not include the unpredictable variable costs such as price of the land, well, septic, landscaping, taxes.
It depends on location, sometimes private well and sewer sometimes you can hook up to the city system for gas and power sometimes people are on solar wind or generators or propane thanks for watching

No need
very nice but I think the outside door is little bit low

I've always wondered from where do these houses get their water? A well? Or from the nearest city water system? What about sewage, gas and electrity?
It depends on location, sometimes private well and sewer sometimes you can hook up to the city system for gas and power sometimes people are on solar wind or generators or propane thanks for watching
Personal wells and septic tanks but the electrical, cable and natural gas is all public
Tooooooope tooooooope

Get a college degree first.
um. re: windows and bugs, getting into the house when they are open???? No screens!?!?!?
Your kidding right? You think someone is going to build a million plus dollar home in Mosquito country and not have screens?
I have a serious issue, why these windows are too small. I do not like them. Is there any option for large window???
Of course
Can't imagine I'd ever be that rich to afford such a expensive summer house.
Thanks for following along!
These homes definitely aren’t for everyone.
“Especially to you builder out there”
Bro your the only one not building lmao

You said you use silicone caulk, but the guy is using Alex Plus Latex caulk.

Ah it's a good thing they installed maintenance free Windows on a log home that will be nothing but maintenance lol
I know this home and with the overhangs and porches the home will need less maintenance. The areas above stepladder height are maintenance free.
How much does one of these babies set you back?
