Charlie Puth it's not a average person doing beats at all, he has a ear that recognize notes from everything not just instruments, but literally everything.
Micheal, just wanted to let you know that this videos are really anything that a producer could've asked for, the type of insights you make are literally crucial to every one of us. You're craft, passion and eye for details make your videos a real work of art. People must know that this videos belong to museums because, as we do with paintings and works of literature, this type of analysis is exactly what should be teached in music production schools. You are the best youtube channel for music makers. I didn't even listen to Voicenotes before the video but after the insights you gave I already listened to it 3 times and everytime I picked up a new detail, a new tecnique that I'm going to implement in my future productions. The fact that you are not even making money out of this videos, at least that is what it seems (this video have 6 songs in the description and the bullshit ass youtube algorithm cant distinguish what is fair use) and as I was saying the fact that you probably will never see a dime for such videos just makes you one of the kindest souls I've ever seen.
Couldn't agree more, but all we can do as early viewers is to support and share his content as much as we can. He should make a pateron account or something like that.
The fluid intertwining of meaning and confession with perfectly crafted pop is what Puth calls “hitting two birds with one stone.” “It’s about suggesting an emotion without really saying it,” he explains- like taking a smiling selfie at the club when your heartbroken, pretending you’re having the time of your life when your really hoping that one person out there will see it and think of you.” These songs are supposed to outline that juxtaposition with a sad lyric, like in “How Long” which has the danciest, most up- tempo beat on the radio right now.” -Charlie Puth
I always kinda believed one of the inspiration for Attention was "Guillotine" by Jon Bellion , as it both has some very similar key elements, but also gotta admit, amazing video!!!
Charlie Puth is one of the best singers I've ever heard. He is so knowledgeable about music and how to put it together. I have not heard one song he has done that I have not liked. Truly a brilliant and gifted artist.
Charlie Puth is a brilliant artist. I fell in love with his music when I first heard 'I Won't Tell a Soul'. Then I had to go and look up his other music. Now I love them all. I love the album 'Voicenotes' as I do all his albums. My favorite song on this album has to be 'How Long'. I just love the video, the way he dances. He just acts like hes having so much fun. It would be so awesome to learn how to make music like Charlie does, the way he just uses a sound. There will never be another artist like Charlie Puth.

This is saved in my favorites and I relisten to it once in a while with great admiration for both Sound Selection for the precise analysis and of course for @charlieputh who is SO talented.
Someone mentioned your channel on the ProducerGrind morning show today, I wanted to check your channel out because of the name. You got a dope channel, & a new sub. Keep being great man
There's only a handful of artists under the EDM umbrella with such an easily identifiable sound--where you hear a song for the first time and IMMEDIATELY know who it is--and Zedd is absolutely one of them. The moment you hear that vocoder layered behind the lead vocals... it's as clear as Adele's "Hello" ya know? Hahaha there is just no mistaking it. Love that.
Thank God I found your channel man !! I'm an indie Artist who produce music in my bedroom just like the majority of artist nowadays, your channel helped me like a lot, it'll be more awesome if you can make a collaboration with Polyphonic !! again man Thank you !!! Mabuhay !!
I wonder what he could do with a copy of Chipsynth MD loaded with all the VGMs to take patches from, I know he could make the Yamaha YM2612 sound chip sing!
i think, watching this made me realize that, the reason why charlie puth was able to produce it all by himself, was because he also had OTHER GREAT MUSICIAN FRIENDS around him who he ran to for advise--that's what really launched his production value right there.
this is also used in the hip hop world by the smart rappers, they mumble their flow and then add words with certain vowels that match the mumble sound, but the old heads will say 'fuhk mumble rap'.. smh lol

There's always something exciting about artists who sings, write and produce as well.
especially when they're good at it all
@@soundselection9406"Voicenotes" is one of my favorite albums of charlie puths music besides "One Track Mind" and "Charlie"
Oh I meant Nine not one

Yo this is one of the best videos I’ve ever seen on TH-cam.
thanks
weird cuz narrator clearly knows very little about mixing and production himself
7000 views, really? This should get to a million

How did I forget how much this album slaps
I always kinda believed one of the inspiration for Attention was "Guillotine" by Jon Bellion , as it both has some very similar key elements, but also gotta admit, amazing video!!!
Hmm....i think you're not wrong.
It could be, I saw so many different inspirations for all of Puth's songs who knows whats possible
Charlie Puth is one of the best singers I've ever heard. He is so knowledgeable about music and how to put it together. I have not heard one song he has done that I have not liked. Truly a brilliant and gifted artist.
Can we establish that he perfectly replicated a fucking trumpet? Jesus, this guy is talented.

Charlie Puth is a "gift' to us all.
Can you do "True Colors" by Zedd?
It's very underrated sonically, especially it's first track "addicted to a memory"
Definitely want to do something on Zedd, The stuff he does with a vocoder on the vocals is crazy.
