Wolfspider : "I am a sophisticated hunting machine! I kill my prey with great speed and tenacity! I am feared among insects and arachnae alike! I am..." "... so cute!" " God damn it!"
Currently raising a baby wolf spider I found outside after my 7 legged one died I ugly cried. They really do have the cutest faces! I also been hatching breeding and keeping mantises for the last couple years so I think it's super cool first time watching your channel thanks for the content
You’re videos and videos like yours have helped me gotten over my fear of spiders. Like I personally would never have a true spider as a pet but I’m coming round to the idea of a jumping spider or a tarantula at some point as they are soooo cool
My guess is the jumping spider was a wild catch and had already made it they can double clutch or it's a hobby breeder and the guy just sold it off as a juvenile or girl whichever the case may be
I'm so terrified of spiders, But Here recently I don't know why but I want a jumping spider soo bad and I love to watch them now and btw I love your tattoos
I would say do it, jumpers are awesome, I need to get some for myself, too :) I've been arachnophobic pretty much since childhood and I recently got my lil tarantula sling (Caribena versicolor); it's an awesome way to get rid of your fear in the most positive way :)
I just found this channel and wish to comment that it seems ya appreciate arachnids more than “true” bugs. You are awesome and keep making content. I have a lot to check out.
When I saw a jumping spider once I put my hand near it and one jumped on my hand I wasn’t scared of them there like the first spiders to get out of the spider fear cause they may be jumpy but they aren’t gonna bite unless provoked
Jumping spiders are so cool! Unlike a lot of other spiders they have incredibly good eyesight, and their two large middle eyes (which give them that adorable face) have movable retinas to allow them to track moving prey and to detect color as well. Their other eyes basically detect peripheral motion. And, as mentioned, they use their silk producing ability to keep them safe while jumping, like strapped-in trapeze artists! Very cool genus and it's awesome you have you a couple of them to show off.
I Really like your channel. I know that there are courses for arachnophopic people out there. You helped me not being afraid of spiders so much more. Thank you.(l) By the way what tarantula is the easiest to keep and handle and feed for people who want to start with tarantula's or spiders as pets?
Hello, I really enjoyed this video with the true spiders. I'm fascinated by spiders but def afraid of them. I got bit by a brown recluse a year ago it really messed up my foot. Some in family are scared of them. I did subscribed to your channel too. Your also very cute too as well as your spiders.. Look forward to seeing more of you and your spiders.. So energetic and cheerful. Def like that. Keep up with the great content.
What steps do you take to ensure? You don't introduce a Black Widow or other widow.Spider into an environment where they don't normally exist. That is to say outside of your home and into the wild and potentially into someone else's home?
I wanna get some true spiders so bad. They're too cool. I found this gigantic spider (I think it was a rabid wolf spider) near my house recently and was kicking myself for not having a jar
Tarantula of the North you say? That makes sense In German we actually call large wolf spiders, like Hogna, "Tarantel". (Tarantulas are most often called "Vogelspinnen", literally "bird spiders"...)
In reference to your "male" jumping spider- I had the same thing, I got a male P regius as my first jumping spider (I was willing to take anything, they were hard to find at the time), and he laid eggs ;) P regius have a variety of colors and black and white colored ones are generally assumed to be males by casual enthusiasts, but females can have that coloration too. You have to try to look at pedipalp shape and if the front legs are longer/bulkier if they are old enough to do so. Females also tend to have much larger abdomens than males- mature males slow down eating whereas females plump up. I can see where yours was mistaken for a juvenile male due to size and coloration. The problem with wild caught! It may still be a P regius, thought I have difficulty telling the difference with P audax because I havn't owned any P audax. I also recommend folks who have jumpers who are kinda nervous about being handled- set up a little playground for them. It can be whatever you have around to climb on. They tend to enjoy that. I always have a small fake plant and some aquarium pieces on my desk in case my jumpers want to come out and explore when I'm feeding them.
Out of the spiders jumping spiders can see more then any spider out there jumping spiders can see our every move good thing they’re the good spiders and they actully can see more then any other spider
My understanding is that regal jumping spider females have pink purple on their jaws whereas the bold females have green jaws. I could see that she had green jaws so therefore she would be a bold jumping spider.
Thanks for sharing! I love the spidery diversity! I'm glad you remembered your lovely velvet spider just in time... One small nitpick: I'm pretty sure your "false tarantula" is also NOT a "true spider". Calisoga is a mygalomorph, a group that also includes the real tarantulas. Mygalomorphs can be considered to more closely resemble the earlier models of spiders (some might say they look more primitive, but I despise that terminology). The araneomorphs on the other hand are sometimes labeled "true spiders". I guess, because they have more derived traits and make up the bulk of species. But let's stop the descrimination, they are all spiders...
Oh thank you for the information! I will admit I know nothing about false tarantulas. I got mine as a freebie and never really got around to doing much research on it! I gotta step up my game!
@@SlightlyVenomous I like the second jumping spider. I have never seen one quite that big. I have a lot of jumping spiders in my back yard and it was actually the first spider I started handling. I worked my way up to the black and yellow argiope soon after and those are very pretty and I have several of those in my back yard as well.
It's crazy , how I have 2 slings that should be biGgeR than a house fly by now, but, one is still smaller than a fruit fly and the other is barely as biG as a house fly. ☝️😲😳🤨✋🖐️. And they've only molted twice since December. 😆
they get rehoused into their permanent enclosures in other videos on this channel! watch the zilla micro habitat video and the tarantula cribs video to see
This video and Clint Laidlaw’s videos on widows gave me the confidence to capture and rehome widows from places they’d face certain death

Jumper is still my favorite, I love how active they are
they are just so cute and lovely!
I agree that wolf spiders have cute faces, just like jumping spiders! Would love to keep one someday.
So catch one in your yard put in a 10 gal tank
@@lonnied.585 Sadly no yard for my apartment building. The joys of city living. There are some species native to my area, though, so who knows?

Does a false Wolf spider count as a Wolf spider?

I don't have any pet arachnids but if I could I would start with the jumping spider. They are just adorbs
They are super cute! and really nice pets!
Cute spiders and a cute tattooed redhead... pretty nice channel

Agreed, Phidippus audax is likely the species. Very common in North America.
Jumping spiders are freaking adorable. Those faces.

I am new here!! And I’m hooked!!!
I have a random wolf spider I caught. She has an egg sac now. I can’t wait to see her babies. 💜

Do you have any brown recluse or interested in the brown recluse ?
You may want to check out the video I just posted haha
I love your glasses!
Thank you!
They’re all so sweet looking, amazing video! 🖤
I think it is a regal jumping spider dcf I have the same one. In the light should appear dark brown not black hopefully this helps
It looks quite black in the light to be honest /: she’s also itty bitty. like a quarter of the size of my female regal jumpers.
Great video. I'd recommend larger enclosures for your wolf and jumping spiders as they like to roam and hunt.

You should see our jumping spiders if you think that's small 😆Welcome to England lol
Unrelated, but what shade of nail polish are you wearing in this??
She is a cute bold jumper....was she wild collected or did the breeder breed her before you got her ?
If she was wild collect she could come pregnant..
I honestly don’t know 😅 I’ve had her for a while!
Love all spiders! Black widows are very misunderstood.
They truly are! 🥰
what size enclosure do you recommend for tarantulas?
SIZE DOESN'T MATTER FOR THIS GIRL!!
Do you have camel spiders?

I think the jumper with babies is likely an Audax!
You should get an orb weaver
Wolf Spiders are a household name in here in NS...unfortunately our tarantula of the North
I hear that they are all over the place in some areas! never seen a wild one where I am, so I have to get them as pets in order to enjoy them
