Youre wrong in your upscaling and downscaling comprehension. Downscaling means that you render for example 1440p and downscale it to your native resolution 1080p for example, which improves graphical fidelity (this is how first antialiasing methods worked taking a lot of performace like in Crysis). Upscaling is when you take a lower resolution like 720p and make it bigger to fit your native resolution 1080p, this results in lower image quality but this is how modern antialiasing methods work like FSR and DLSS, they use "AI" to improve image quality taking previous smaller frames to render a bigger image, their predecesor was called TAA (temporal antialiasing).
Upscaling typically means that you render at, say, 720p but through software/AI your picture is being shown at monitor's native resolution, see Lossless Scaling for instance.
To make NIS (Nvidia Image Scaling) work you have to select a lower Render Resolution than your Window Resolution, otherwise( if your Render Resolution matches your Window Resolution) NIS will only apply the amount of sharpening that you set and wont upscale anything. And I guess it wont work on AMD cards since it is a Nvidia tecnology.
You are confusing statistical downscaling with image downscaling/upscaling. When you render an image in lower resolution than your display resolution and then upscale the image to your native display resolution then it's called UPSCALING. It is done in order to squeeze more frames out of your GPU at the expense of quality of the image. When you render image in higher resolution than your display resolution and then downscale it to your native display resolution then it's called DOWNSCALING. It is done in order to achieve better quality of the image at the expense of framerate. edit: It is pretty self-explanatory and you don't need to be in the IT crowd to understand it. No need to dumb it down or even flip it upside down.
The Slaver King is one of the easiest unique heist contracts and people farmed it this league (along with other unique contracts) for the Heist allflame (which had a chance to drop the corpse for the experimented weapon base types).
its not just "bad computer". i have acutally a very good one, but probably my power supply is broken or my operation systems ssd. in 5ways or some high end juicing i get alot crashes, sometimes my entire pc shuts down. if i put the game manually to a very low resolution it survives. hope that new option fixes it for me for now until i can affoard 2-3 new components
one question: I really enjoy those patch notes videos a lot! I was kinda surprised that u didnt cover any of the path of exile 2 reveal news. Do you plan to cover PoE2? if so I would much rather hear ur summeries from poe2 content reveals than from other content creators.
No league end events feels bad, GGG you are killing me here. Also 2:49 what is the point of making your game look super pretty if people can't play it on that setting to see it, makes no sense.
I don't think there's any point in them running end of league events for this league cos a lot of PoE players are gonna be focused on the new Elden Ring DLC that comes out tomorrow. Indeed I expect the biggest competition 3.25 will face will also be from Elden Ring rather than any of PoE's traditional competitors.

Maybe it's just a weird take for me, but every time they remove the shaders I have to play a considerable number of hours to get my frame rate back. I usually use this "end of league" purge to log in and farm a few maps so I'm not absolutely struggling with FPS on league launch.
"Optimised the performance of some monsters" There is probably a monster which only seemed normal due to its own lag, it is now zooming around at super saiyan 300 speeds.
There's a bug where on death sometimes, more often than should go unnoticed with my Hexblast Miner, where your ES is just set to 0 when you re-enter the map. I swap over to another char and bam ES is back. SUPER annoying because at the very least you waste a portal and if you have no other character then you're screwed.
FYI, the cache cleanup happens once you launch the game (after updating). No need to load up any particular character, and there's a screen that tells you it's happening. It probably took under a min for me.
Yeah it was actually before the login screen which was not my recollection from last time. It's a LOT slower if you've played a shitload of fast instances, especially on dedicated Heist or Lab characters, where you might have 15000 minimaps to delete.
Yeah IMO a longer flashback would be good. I can "finish" an event in a week, but for a lot of players, one week isn't enough. They might only get 15 hours playtime in the week which may put them around the second Voidstone.
I liked playing ruthless for skins. Wouldnt do it just for fun though as going through 10 acts on 2 link with terrible gear and nerfed ascendancies isnt what I would call a definition of fun. But I enjoyed the base game more after that.
I've liked Ruthless in my recent look at it (although that's on hiatus for a private league). The acts are more engaging, IMO - when you are in Act 8, your character is trying to get strong enough to beat Act 8, rather than being strong enough already to do T5 maps. Reserving judgement on the endgame feel though.
@@joelhodoborgas i know, but i suspect it's the same for most people. 2700x is quite slow, but headhunter+TS can go down to 4fps with good gear and high speed buff. although i think gtx1080 is also at its limit in 3440x1440 ;p

New Elden Ring DLC is coming out tomorrow. I don't think they could ever compete with that for people's attention, in the short term at least.
@@ArawnOfAnnwn Yeah i don't like soulslike games. Its just not my thing.

Resolution scaling is a really smart implementation allowing people with outdated hardware to play since it's a fairly demanding game.
Yeah, the published min specs are pretty low for the game, and hopefully the change helps people with hardware at that level.

The sanctum bug also affected original sin runs. My friend lost his original sin run in ssf thanks to the invisible beams.
They didn't onetap Xethanar?
Oh just saw the 'in SSF'. Yeah I could see it having more impact there.

I'll bet it relates to some monsters behaving weirdly (graphically) with lots of Soul Eater stacks.

That means your CPU is bottlenecking your PC while in towns.
