1st hand perspectives. LOVE IT!
Is it normal to stop for a natural break with 15k to go? Seems like that’s usually done with around 50k to go. Seems like 15k to go is a little too close to the finish line to stop for a pee.
Good point. 15k is 9.3 miles, which takes, at their speeds is like 20 or 30 minutes. He must have really had to go!
@@tommyrq180 Yes when you have to go you have to. Its a calculated risk. No one wants to pee on themselves if they can avoid it.
stopping with 15k to go when your going after GC just seems so odd. was there really no other place to stop just a little earlier? i feel like it's expected that riders will go full lockdown mode, knowing they can keep a GC threat at the back of the pack.
Tough to say. I did a cold road race back in the 80’s where I had to pee in the worst way. I had won the event the previous year and my legs felt great at ~75mi. Tried to pee on the bike, no go. It literally felt I like was gonna bust something, so I pulled over and took what felt like a 5min pee. Bye bye peloton. 😆
@David Ware unlucky man!
This is almost the same with Sagan's concern
The traffic of the peloton is ruining bike racing
Being a Nice Guy is not enough to compete for podiums in big league Euro bike races. Better sharpen up those edges Matteo.
My fellow Ginger: hang in there - get em next time!
