I’m with Manny. I’d jump on that 412 in a heartbeat if my CFO would approve it…
Update: She approved! My new 412ce is on its way. Great review, guys.

Taylor 400s are great. I picked up the 414ce limited (sinker redwood) and just love it. First song I played was "Take on Me" and naturally named her Ellie. Maybe I should pick up one of these 412s and name it Joel.

Great demo Cooper! I like the variety of sounds you are showcasing, including the light jazz chords. Great lead work as always.

They sound great! However, I fell in love with the revamped 512ce red ironbark and the Taylor Taylor Custom Flamed Maple GA 9-string. Thanks Chris and Cooper

Great video guys! Cooper, I love your playing! I’m an older player with aging hands, so the 412 would be a no brainer for me. You guys are so good at clarifying the differences in tone wood, scale length, body sizes and which body style etc, works best for what type of player you are. Thanks for doing such a great job in explaining the differences of these guitars.

Glad they came out with the new 400 lineup; because it I was able to pick up a huge discount on the last natural finish 412ce-R in a store. 🙂

Hey! Love your videos! I find them so helpful! I was wondering if you could possibly do a comparison between the 512ce urban iron bark vs. the 412ce? I am up in the air if I really would like to do the urban iron bark or if I want to stay traditional and stick with the rosewood of the 412ce. They both look and sound amazing! I don't have enough money for both unfortunately, I actually have to use the credit option to get one! But I would love to pull the trigger soon so if you guys could do a comparison of those two? I will probably have already decided by the time you do one of those videos lol but I think it would still be super helpful! Thanks Chris and Cooper!

I have bought a limited edition Custom 414CE spruce rosewood sunburst but with gold hardware, larger inlays. I like that bettter because of the off white almost cream binding instead of brilliant bright white with these new 400 series.

It is great to see something that most can agree on: this style of sunburst and trim. It is very similar to my Martin CEO 7 and my neighbor's Gibson. If only everything was this way. .

I bought the 417 as soon as I found one. My absolutely favorite Taylor I've ever owned (6 and counting). I'm really surprised they didn't put black tuners on the new 400's. First two things I did to mine was replace the silver with black, and install a LR Baggs Anthem pickup with a battery compartment mod to still be able to use the Taylor battery holder. The black looks so much better.

I had a 000-28 for 30 years I bought new in 1971 and then finally traded it for a special Strat as the neck had warped being then they didn't come with a truss rod Clapton got his in 71 as well! I now have an M-36 I bought in 1991 new it is a great guitar! The thing is I'm now pretty certain I'm gonna get the 412 as I want a good guitar with a smaller body I can tuck under my arm and play the shit out of! I could afford an 814 top of the line if I wanted but these 400 series have the most bang for the buck!

These are great, but I got my 714ce with the Lutz spruce top before the switched to Koa. Since I already have a 712 (97) I am covered on rosewood.

I still have my 2006 412ce. it has character as it was my main guitar until late end of last year. this is great seeing and hearing something really new! (still prefer my 06 model cause of the bracing and such but thats just personal preference like its back and sides being ovankol. Great video as always guys thank you!

Just picked up the 414ce-R - man it is sweet! Great job comparing the two versions. Cooper did an awesome job playing - forgive my lack of knowledge, but is that a known song that has tabs to learn or is that Cooper's work? Great song!

Hey guys! I’m a fan and subscriber. Live in Pittsburgh and a couple of months ago traded up to this new 412ce that you’re showing.
    My questions are for Cooper:
I have guitar ( and all things !) OCD and have been a bit of a restless pick seeker. And I gravitate to those with a bit of a grip-stable surface Dunlop prime grip Delrin 500, 71 thick.
    What do you use ?
Also, if I occasionally strum with a medium-heavy attack will I be disappointed or will the definition get muddy?
    Thanx-
    Steve

Amazing video like always. Guys do you think the 912 ce be is worth the price difference compared with this 412ce?

i have always been an _14ce Taylor guy (114ce, 414ce, and a 714ce) thru the years - and only recently strayed when I cane across the 816ce Builders Edition... Now, I'm looking at the 412ce and wondering why I hadn't even considered these models in the past??? (Maybe the stores just didn't really atock them? I dunno, but seems silly in retrospect...)

Taylor made a special edition guitar to go along with the last of us 2 game. A 314ce with a special moth inlay in the fretboard. Good luck getting one now. There's a couple on Reverb. A mere $14000 asking price (or more).

Taylor is popular. Raj played one 414 or 412 on The Big Bang Theory 😊. Rare to see a brand name guitar on shows. Kudos!🎶🎶🎶

Wonder how a parlor guitar (610-625mm scale length) with a manouche body (470x403x100) will sound ))

  • @jasoncounts8249

To me it sounded as though the strings on the 414 were newer. The 412 sounds a little more played in.

  • @Purple_Pixel

Not sure why but the 412 sounds deeper than the 414

Honestly not too thrilled with the new sunburst finish, feels like a step backwards that both options aren't kept available. I'll have to keep an eye out on the second hand market for the old natural version to pop up.

    • @AlamoMusic
      @AlamoMusic  ปีที่แล้ว

The natural version is still available! Just needs to be special ordered, but we will keep the natural top in stock-- we have a 414ce-R Natural right now!

I believe Taylor made a special guitar for TLoU2 that featured a beautiful recreation of Ellie's tattoo that covers her bite scar; a moth on a leaf in the fret inlays... check it out!

What would you recommend for an American made solid rosewood back and side alternative that’s less expensive?
