Do not do videos in Cotonou to downgrade the city. If you are comparing Cotonou to Lagos, then you are making a huge mistake. Benin's population is only 12 million, so do not expect it to be like Lagos.
Cotonou is still fine. It is a chill place. The Nigerian rowdy environment is not a plus sometimes so no need to compare the two countries. Safety and comfort is key, Cotonou brings them both.
I am a Nigerian and I have been to Cotonou for work a few times. If I have need to live in West Africa, Cotonou is top of the list for me. Nigerians are always welcome in Cotonou better than what we experience in some other African countries. So I suggest if you go to other countries, you be smart with comparison. I understand your ideology, as I am also a Nigerian. So I advice you strongly to not make some comparisons that mey send wrong messages to viewers.
That city is home to peace loving people of Cotonou. They have also accommodated a lot of Nigerians without any resentments. Please don't unknowingly damage that relationship. They are laid back and working hard. And you just have to show them love as our friendly and accommodating neighbours.

There are Cenimas in Cotonou not in the Place Market you visited. Cinema Concord, Cinema Vogue, Cinema le Benin all are in Cotonou. I am a Nigerian who grew up in Cotonou. I loved the City till tomorrow... You don't need to be Super Rich to live comfortably on daily basis...
Don't compare Nigeria to benin republic Nigeria has 250 million why benin republic is 13 million what did you expect . So they don't need that big mall

I love how she came to a a conclusion and completely disregarded the perfume store, the electronics store, and the furniture store amongst others that were in the building and around the compound until the end of the video where she quickly gave us a glimpse of them. Our 'mall' is small, because we don't need one. For the longest time Cotonou hosted the largest Market in West Africa, the Dantokpa market which had items from across the globe. Maybe it's not tourist friendly but it's what we have😂

I went to this supermaket a couple of months ago. The food is of high quality and the market is very well stocked. Absolutely huge bread, cheese, and wine section. Much is imported from France. (Super U is one of the big supermarket chains in France) so that is probably why I found it a bit pricey. It is much cheaper to buy food from local markets. They don't provide any carry-bags but they give out used carboard boxes to carry the food.
Is it mall we want to eat or good governance.... You can't compare Nigeria with benin republic 🇧🇯 at all .

For the size of Erevan it should be consider as a shopping center but not a Mall as you pretended or described!

I do not think one should expect shopping malls in Cotonou to be as big as the ones in Lagos base on the population on the two cities as the population of Lagos alone is higher than that of Cotonou.
Well, not everyone will know that. Remember this is a supermarket not actually a mall. The fact that the population of lagos is higher than that if Cotonou shouldn’t mean they shouldn’t have a mall. The city is big as well and having just a supermarket doesn’t cut it. I heard there are plans of having a mall though
