the japanese packs really test my knowledge of one piece lmao, trying to sort my collection binder trying to remember if some character is apart of a certain group or not is a challenge lol
Oh I know exactly what you mean! And I haven't watched the entire anime yet so I'm always tested, even with the english cards hahaha! Have you enjoyed collecting the Japanese version of the One Piece Card Game?
Yeah its great, love the art work and love collecting, with pokemon it really is like only the hits are good collecter items, but with the one piece cards, i love every one, they are all great for a character themed binder, got a page for all my favorite characters
Bro, Japanese OP is realistically the only thing a lot of us can really afford to rip in large enough quantities for it actually be enjoyable without feeling like you got completely shafted over the price😢😂
STAUNCH SHANKS! Love the Sanji card! I'm only a bit past that in the anime haha. Sick cards and video brother. Learnt a lot about the one piece sets from watching this!
Ahhh bro it gets better from there! I'm a huge fan of the DON!! cards. I'm trying to make sure you're all as informed as me but it's hard to get it all into the vids haha. Thanks for the watch. Appreciate you man!
It's always a treat to see folks open One Piece cards, but you never really got around as to "Why" to collect OP in Japanese until close to the end because of pricing. But yeah, when OP04 dropped in English, I decided to give it a shot and got hooked. I got OP05 English at a decent price but then prices went sky high.. some people think it's like Dragon Ball TCG, it'll drop if Bandai bungle it somehow. But as just a pure collector.. Japanese is the way to go. You can't play them in English TCG tournaments so the price point is much cheaper and the card quality is just as good! Still chasing a first manga (English or Japanese), they are stupid rare.
Hey thank you so much for the feedback. I definitely know what you mean and it's something I'm gonna improve on. I jumped in at OP-04 and I'm so glad I did! I don't think I'll be opening any ENG OP-01 anytime soon haha. What's the best card you have in your PC?
The best luck I've had (in the states) for opening OP01 English has been going to Gamestops. Hot Topic, Five Below also will carry them sometimes, in the States. They rarely get them (and only a few packs at a time if the employees don't buy them) but I got 4 of OP01 and managed to pulled the Zoro parallel. I have good bit of AA's from pure luck of buying OP English but my best is from OP05, I have the SP for Yamato, Enel, Uta (Japanese), Luffy leader, and Rebecca. I would love the Law manga, but that's probably only going to happen through a trade of my Pokémon AA's. @@Mindroos_yt
Hey :) I hope it is ok to responding to you, since I have a question with starting to collect OP. I saw that the english Displays are going crazy, even the 06 in some shops for 239€. It is because they are short of stock? I guess it is because you can only play english carda in tournaments and some want to collect them in english and some will always go for english. But seeing the japanese displays for 69 to 89€.. it seems fishy to me. It is because the stock is so much higher in japanese? Little bit scared to get scammed.. because the price-difference is crazy. I thought about catching up in japanese for 01-06 and switching english for 07 and going forward. Thanks in advance for feedback.
@@MitiGaming92 Honestly, you hit the nail on the head as far as why there is such a price discrepancy. The stock for English has been extremely limited ever since the TCG was introduced and people that want to both play and collect go for the English cards. The Japanese ones are completely legit at that price, but I know the pull rates for cases in both Japanese and English are a little different too, mainly for manga chases and stuff. But honestly, since I want to collect the cards for the art work, I've been buying only Japanese since OP06. I'll still buy English if I can find it for market price (IE; in Wal-Marts or Targets) but otherwise... Japanese for the hobby. I got 2 boxes for OP07 in Japanese for $120 total and bought some EB01 for about the same price. Some shops have been good about presale for English being market price and honestly, that's the only time I usually get English for market price.
@@MitiGaming92 Hey thanks for tuning in and watching. Also thanks the question and that’s awesome you’ve decided to jump into the hobby! Long story short, Bandai definitely don’t print English as heavily as they do with Japanese cards, and because of the popularity of the TCG, it’s put a premium on anything English. With the lack of printing, the secondary market will always inflate the pricing of boxes unfortunately. Japanese cards and boxes will always be cheaper because it’s more accessible and the cards aren’t able to be played in western countries. I will also say, Japanese boxes will have less hits per box. I think two Japanese boxes would roughly equal what you’d get in one English box. You won’t be scammed buying Japanese, it’ll just be the case of if you buy one box, be prepared for less hits than what you’d get in one Eng Box. Your plan to wait for Eng OP-07 is definitely a smart move, as I think OP-07 will be a popular set, 2nd to OP-05 of course haha. I hope this feedback helps!
I got a box of awakenings of new era from eBay on the way I didn't realize it was the Japanese ones the price value should be the same right or is it the same with pokemon
Hey thanks for the question! This is my unresearched opinion (haha) based on purely what I've seen online. Unfortunately, I believe Japanese OP be remain cheaper due to Bandai making One Piece being more about playing the TCG than collecting, This puts a huge premium on cases, boxes and individual chase cards etc. English cards will always be more expensive unless Bandai decide to print the sets into the ground like Pokémon have. The English market doesn't have as much availability, as I'm sure you're aware. Japanese sets are easier to access and because you can't play Japanese cards in western countries, boxes will be cheaper to buy and easier to access I love the Japanese cards for the aesthetic, the fact they're cheaper is a bonus and I think they're great for people wanting to get into the hobby. But Japanese cards isn't everyone's cup of tea. I hope this helps and I'm keen to find out what card you get from your box. Good luck!!
@xboxgamerz22 i think if you enjoy One Piece in general and want to get into it, the Japanese cards hit differently. At the filming of this video it was certainly harder to obtain English product and the cards were worth more. With the reprints of sets, release of PRB01 etc, it's actually easier to get your hands on Eng products. So you definitely have the freedom to go either Japanese or English and be pretty happy
@Manjack8899 with boxes. The Japanese box will be a lot smaller in physical size compared to English. And then there's the language difference on the packs too. I hope this helps and good luck! 🙏🏽
Oh nice one welcome to the hobby! Japanese playing cards aren't allowed to be used in Western format. But I believe there's going to be a rule changing for the Don!! Cards. Allowing you to use the Japanese versions of them
Hey man, thanks for the question! If you're in Australia, I've left a couple of links in the description. I'm pretty sure Brokemonstore.com ships internationally.. If you're not... I'm not sure of any sites outside Australia Hope this helps, and good luck!
Are all higher in what way? Eng is definitely more expensive because I believe there's less printed than Japanese. I do feel like the quality control is on par with both sets though. Do you collect japanese OP?
Never too late for Japanese! I think if you wanted to get older sets then yeah the ship has probably set sail. But the future sets are coming and it's worth placing a pre order for a box or two of sets coming out, or for those (like me) just wait until i can afford to buy a box and see how I go
I honestly don't believe the price of Japanese OP will increase at the rates of Eng. Boxes of OP-01 are still very affordable. Though I'll admit I'm getting the feeling pull rates per box are different.
It’s weird that people collect Japanese if they can’t play or read it. Maybe it make sense if English tcg let you use it as a legal proxy due to supply issues in the western world, otherwise this is just whack
That's a fair assumption. People like myself just enjoy it and enjoy the aesthetic of the cards. I certainly can't read it but I enjoy the fact I can get the card I want for a cheaper price or still get the feeling of getting a hit from a box. One piece Japanese is so much cheaper than English ad well, so it's a compromise people are willing to do in order to still enjoy collecting 😁

@@Mindroos_yt that they are. Definitely still worth putting up some boxes/cases up in the closet😁
