My hair grew a lot since lockdown. I washed it weekly (10 mins to shampoo, 10 mins deep conditioner, 30 mins to moisturize and redo 4-6 plaits) that’s it. I left my hair alone after wash day, stayed hydrated and slept well. That’s it. What’s your favorite head wrap?
Yes, this! I find that simple routines are always the best 🙌🏾. Also, I really like crownned headwraps. They have great colors and are large enough to tie in cute ways.
oh my days!! (new subscriber here!) the first tip blew me away!!! I also moved to a drier climate from a place that was humid and I've had to moisturize my hair every 2-3 days before washday. Didn't know why, but after seeing your video, it makes so much sense!!!! Thank you so much for the tips!! 💕
I only wear wash and goes, workout 4days a week, sweat a lot and cleanse, condition and style every 4-5 days. I get my hair trimmed every 3-4months and it’s noticeably longer than when I started my journey.
I believe a healthy scalp is key! Thoroughly wash and rinse once a week, no more than two. What you are saying also applies especially using heat. Although I prefer heat styles during the winter months, wash and goes during the summer…works for me!
Love the tip on moisturizing which I do about every 3 days. My low porosity hair loves veg glycerin mixed with water and leave in conditioner. I swear by Mielle rosemary mint scalp oil the next day after wash day-it has been the key to my hair growth!!
I really don’t measure-I squeeze about 2 tablespoons and I pour about 1 tablespoon of that new milky like shea moisture leave in conditioner in a spray bottle with some castor oil. Of course everyone hair is different so be mindful
Tip 1 I think is what I needed bcs I normally wait for my hair to feel dry before I moisturize... OMG thank u can't wait to experiment and I hope I get good results
As a first-time viewer to your channel. This is the only time I have ever heard this tip. It's an eye-opener. Thanks for the 1st tip, I definitely will do it. I used to wait until my hair felt dry, but I would moisturize the day before now. Thank you.
Great video! Beautiful hair! Hope you are inspired to share more such as your protective hairstyle of choice. Your favorite headwraps for professional settings. How you moisturize while keeping hair in protective styles.
Your hair is beautiful. Thank you for this video it was useful. Love your tip of moisturising your hair mid week ❤ I will implement it, I am already doing all the others tips.
Thank you for the support, sis! 😊 They are almost 4 yrs apart. The before picture was taken in July 2019. The after picture was taken in May of this year.
could u type what salon u went to pls? i couldn’t hear it well in the video, i live in denver and need a salon to go but im scared they’ll probably damage my hair even more 😭 also my hair is always dry as well after i wash like a day or 2 so thx for the tips
Yes, absolutely. The salon is called More than Curly. I believe they are located in centennial now (they recently moved locations). They do a really good job with curl education and ways to improve your hair. I feel the dryness girl it's a struggle to keep hair moisturized 😩. I am going to do a video on my wash day routine and how I moisturize my hair.
Hair porosity is very important. I live in Denver also I have low porosity. What porosity level is your hair? Second question, do you have a braid out in this style or twist out?
It really is! I can't express enough the importance of porosity when moisturizing hair. I have low porosity, too, so I have to include the greenhouse effect into almost every part of my moisture routine. This is a twist out in this video.
I have done both, but more often than not, I usually use a spray bottle because I am too lazy to do it in the shower, lol. Once it's wet, I add my leave in conditioner and restyle.
@everythingunderthesun5575 not when I have added hair just because It would be too much work to retwist it, but if I twist or braid it without any added hair, then I will remoisturize on the third day.
Just found you! Gorgeous head of hair even when it was short. I’ve been attempting to grow mine out since 2021. I’ve been cutting on it since having these babies (ha, now 10 and 6) but my oldest asked to. Her hair is like yours thick and dense! Anywho, can you share some protective styles that got you through during the awkward and in between phase? Thank you!
I totally understand kids driving you to cut your hair, lol. I think about it sometimes now that I have my kiddo like man, I could save so much time if I didn't have to do this hair, haha. 😆 For my protective styles I usually would put my hair in mini twists and then tie it up with cute head wraps, but I think I will make a video for this since I have gotten a few questions about protective styles, so stay tuned 🤗
Lol I feel you girl! I consider protective styles to be any style where you don't have to manipulate your hair daily and where your ends are protected. So this could be twists, braids, or even wearing a wig as long as your hair is protected underneath.
Thank you for replying. I typically wear braid outs but I may go back to twist although as I get older I don't like them on me any more. I will have to experiment. My goal now is healthy hair and retaining/growing my hair.@@ashlynnellesse

Roller sets are great when transitioning. I used to do curlformer sets weekly back when I was trying to grow out my heat damage and it became my signature style for yrs lol
I did roller sets the whole time I transitioned too. Most times I would just let it air dry overnight. Curls came out so soft and full of body. Make sure to deep condition every wash day. Good luck on your journey.
