It’s actually a very competent dogfighter in a Cold War setting, F-5s and Viggens bleed speed pretty quick due to high AOA, the Froggy is kinda like the MiG-19, has really shitty nose authority but that in turn gives it really decent energy retention that most things can’t hold with.
Sabres are generally the best counter to a dogfighting Frogfoot but the guy in this video was air braking the whole time without realising so I was able to energy trap him.

The T version is much heavier. The 25A without any mud moving supplies has a very respectable thrust-to-weight.

I've only ever flown the "A" and I tried the T once, it's just too damn heavy, the thing can barely take-off! I don't know how you guys do it.

which laser guided rockets are you using? i always have used the KH25MLs but their loft and fairly far out minimum range is kinda a PITA

They’re S-25Ls, hit just as hard but shorter range 👌🏼
Feel the same about the MLs, they’re kind of overkill without the Shkval.
