    This video is so helpful. I am new to braiding which is funny after 4 girls that were not into it, my son is. I have done box braids and moving into cornrows. I like the way you apply the product with your comb and placing the comb right there in his hair is genius. Where do you use the Shine and Jam vs the Edge control though.? And does the mousse just at more frizz control?

    • @Styled.bymommy
      @Styled.bymommy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I apply the shine and jam on the parts and I apply the edge control on the hair prior to braiding. The mousse at the end is to tame frizz and add shine.

    Crispy braids. Is there anything I can use to keep my ends from curling up ?

    • @Styled.bymommy
      @Styled.bymommy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much, honestly his curl up as well after a few days and he usually straightens them back with his hands. Maybe try braiding the ends with an edge control and avoid getting the ends wet.

      I’d say just embrace your curl since nothing you can do will stop it from curling (esp over time as the style gets old). Only way to eliminate the curl up is probably using a chemical relaxer. It’s just the biology of our hair 🤷🏽

    Maybe I'm just picky and also because I have a daughter with hair that texture less combing through and more hands.fir me a comb is simply a parting tool.it pullsths hair out more than anything.if the part is straight no need to comb through especially with a small toothcomb that pulls the hair

    • @Styled.bymommy
      @Styled.bymommy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In some cases it could cause damage, but his hair is detangled and I am only using the comb for the purpose of parting and smoothing the product through the hair. If you notice on the comb you see a very small amount of hair at the end of the video.

    Hi @AshleyMariee I love how his hair turned out! I was wondering to detangle the hair before styling, do you wet it? And if so, what product did you use to detangle.

    • @Styled.bymommy
      @Styled.bymommy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thank you so much!! Yes, always detangle hair when wet, I used a small amount of leave in conditioner by Adwoa beauty. I recommend washing, conditioning, and then rinsing the hair. I only used a leave in prior to braiding bcuz he didn’t detangle his hair prior to arriving.

      More than likely bcuz of the product being used, apply product as you’re twisting.

      Start your part down the middle, pre part before braiding.
