    Hey i’m also a degree apprentice and have degree apprentice friends and i just wanna add results will vary based on your company your degree provider all that time
    I’m in my first year and we start with an 8 week uni bootcamp and let me tell you that bootcamp was tough but also was tougher on others depending on your pre-existing knowledge, your passion and all that I studied computing before for gcse and as a btec so i might have found it easier than others
    Work can also be busier or easier like in my own company even for people on the same course i see people who do not get the time for work and feel very overworked (granted one of those people never seemed very interested) but others who are having nothing go on at work and are getting through it easy or don’t find the uni work difficult in general

    It’s great to hear about other apprentices experiences! I agree that if it is your first job, the apprenticeship does take some getting used to and the university/studies side of things vary so much depending on where you go and what apprenticeship you do.
    For example I’m a solicitor apprentice, and I have summer school ! Its two days out of the year and one of them is in person and the other is online.

    Asalamualaikum, thank you so much for making this video !! It was so helpful. Alhumdulilah I managed to secure a degree apprenticeship recently which I have accepted - i took your advice from a diff vid to just apply to everything and anytbing to get used to the app process and i got work experience for a week with the company im going to be an apprentice at so this has made me feel less nervous. Thanks for being very detailed with your answer and giving a heads up about what it is actually like - especially the first job thing as I'm in the same boat. Jazakallah Mahdi! Its refreshing to see a brother explain his experiences. I just have one question, in terms of Salaah times (The five daily prayers) and Salaatul Jumuah, and in fact even eid, dos the company give you some time off for these prayers?

    • @maaahhhdi
      @maaahhhdi  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Wa iyyaakum Akhi. This is a very good question I completely forgot to mention. Salah is very doable especially if you aim to do them in your breaks. Typically only Duhr is necessary (which can usually be done at lunch time). However in the winter Salah gets a bit tighter, despite this, my managers sometimes even planned the meeting breaks around my Salah (I was the only Muslim in my team).
      All my managers were very accommodating, when I was going to the office full time, I was even specifically given a whole meeting room for my Salah.
      Now that I mostly work at home, there is no friction whatsoever.
      Regarding Jummah, my Fridays always end in time for it because of how my week is laid out. This may not be the case for you, but you can always re structure your shift to fit Jummah. (Of course speak to your manager prior)
      Regarding Eid, you will have to book annual leave (you get around 4/5 weeks in most companies).

    do you work 4 days a week and 1 day uni? And is that uni day classed as study day. Or is it 3 days work 1 uni and 1 study

    • @maaahhhdi
      @maaahhhdi  ปีที่แล้ว

      4 days of work and 1 uni day (during the latter portion of the terms, things get busier so you usually need to do uni work on the weekends). Every 4 months we have something called a residential where we go to the university campus (as opposed to online) for a week straight.

    Would you still recommend degree apprenticeships now you're this far into it?

    • @maaahhhdi
      @maaahhhdi  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely, as long as a degree apprenticeship alternative is available for your specialty you should go for it.
      These apprenticeships are rapidly gaining popularity, the acceptance rate of degree apprenticeships have gone very low due to the number of applicants skyrocketing.
