It's definitely felt that way for a while, after how poor of a year they had in 2023 I would've hoped they got the humility they needed to make great films again, but INSIDE OUT 2 doing as well as it did probably reminded them that they mostly need to appeal to nostalgia to make a lot of money.
I really hope so! JOKER 2 bombing (against my prediction whoops) might mean the end for DC success for a little while. If SUPERMAN does a good job next year, that could change!
fun fact (I might be wrong but i’m pretty sure this is accurate): if you look down the list of highest grossing movies of all time, it’s actually the second or third highest that’s an original story not based on an IP (avatar being the highest) so this wouldn’t be surprising at all!
Very good possibility, unfortunately I think episode 9 and the less than stellar reception of the Disney+ content might not engage audiences enough. I also know SOLO didn’t do very well so the sad truth is if there aren’t any recognizable characters it could very well bomb lol
@@sjenx02 True But every starwars movie post 2010 aside from solo made 1b plus with some being horrible, plus the madolorian is pretty big so only 1 out of the will prob make over a billion

I feel like Disney's $1B successes feel suspicious.
