Gulfstream Aerospace G450 M-KBBG Landing & Take Off at Airport Bern-Belp

In January 2014, Gulfstream Aerospace G450 with registration number M-KBBG visited the Airport Bern-Belp in Switzerland. This long-range business jet aircraft is powered by two Rolls-Royce Tay 611-8C turbofan jet engines. The G450 has a maximum range of 8,056 km at a cruising speed of 850 km/h (maximum speed 935 km/h). Look at this short take off distance!
REVERSE THRUST
The pilots engaged the reverse thrust during taxi to slow down the plane. Why didn't they use the wheel brakes instead? The reverser helps to keep the wheel brakes cool and fully operational when needed. Braking excessively does not only wear out the brakes more quickly but increases the danger of glowing hot wheel brakes. Cooling them down takes plenty of time until the aircraft is allowed take off again.
