  • Hello, everyone! Thanks for joining me again. Today, I wanted to tackle a topic that is frequently brought up: vocal training. In this video, I'm sharing my vocal training journey while showing you the tips and tricks I've learned in my own practice. We also complete some vocal exercises together. I know that vocal training can seem like a daunting task, but I encourage to trust in yourself, trust in the process, and PRACTICE. You'll be amazed what practicing can do. Let me know any further questions you may have down in the comments. Thanks for watching!

Hay. It's Ashley Adamson. 6 years into transition. Today, on her back, in pastel hues, hair flowing as if on water. Creative, captivating, relaxed, happy, microscopically introspective Ashley delving into the "feminine voice". Or voices! 3 at least she notes. But for all her details and changes, still to me the she is the core essential Ashley who drew me in on first look and listen years ago and keeps me coming back for that unchanging essence she embodies and voices behind those spectacular pearls. ❤

This will not apply to me, but this vid could become a classic hit for goonerz.

Hey Ashley, you’re such a natural teacher. And your info is so helpful to those in transition. And by the way, loving the lighter colored glasses!! Thanks for all you do in helping others. ❤😊. Amber

Ashley ... main take-away: "Q: How do you get to Carnegie Hall? A: Practice, practice, practice!"
It also occurred to me that if one's working through this on the bus, folks will probably move away to avoid you.
I suppose I could try some of these to try to get back the aspects of my voice that I lost with the T-blockers, but people REALLY don't want to be around a guy practicing a "demon from hell" vocalization.
Anyway, another interesting vid - with an interesting camera angle.
    ❤❤❤

Watching through this now. I have a part-time job at a local NPR affiliate so I hear my own voice played back to me _all the time_, it really helps as far as noticing things I don't like and want to change, and also being able to tell whether or not I was successfully able to change them! Zhea said it best, it's all about breaking the bad habits.
I gotta say, though, you have a stunning voice. I can't imagine how you could possibly improve upon it. Dysphoria is worse in our own heads

OH MY GOD, I am in the no womans voice zone, I noticed the other day when trying to show my old male voice that it has brightness and female behaviour I cant help using, My fem voice is really starting to shine though so I am glad its a normal step and I'm not broken!

The whole "speak with an ee" idea is a bit of a misconception.
"ee" (/i/) happens to be an extreme vowel when it comes to pharyngeal and oral space. Technically, it has the lowest first formant and the highest second formant, but what it means anatomically is that it has the largest pharyngeal and the smallest oral space (that is the tongue is very high and back.) "ah" (/α/) is the opposite - it has the smallest pharyngeal space, and the larger oral space.
However, it also happens that for for feminization that first space (the pharyngeal space, the segment from the vocal folds up to the oral cavity) is much, much more important and harder to get right. The focus on "ee" will only make things worse - it will give a false sense of security and teach your brain to listen the wrong subcomponent of the overall size change.

also, can opt for VFS and not have to fake anything VFS is about 10-12K USD Athem overs this, but Cinga PPO does not. If you yell, scream, snore, clear throat etc the man will come out. Cheap procedure and recovery other than keeping quiet a month is not bad you can still do a job if it's not a phone worker :)

Hi 👋 Ashley first ur voice sounds really great I would even say perfectly 😊. Im training my voice for about 8 months now and I did made a nice progress but not satisfied 😏 from my observations and experience the tone of our voice is not so much importend as the way we speak I thing that's where true femininity voice lies.

Hey lovely, let me help you greatly, USE STRAW or practice straw phonation get one that is tight, then sing or speak through it, sing high pitches through it, do like 2 or 3 times a day and check in 3 to 4 days you will thank me.
For the higher larynx, read or say generic things, do it in extreme high larynx whisper. Find a conversation script and read both parties with same whisper, but have fingers checking the Eve apple being up.
    Then 3,
Practice to RAISE YOUR LARYNX without swallowing nor the Yawn to Whisper, just practice to raise the larynx by itself with your neck muscles, while checking with your finger,
Then every once in a while each time just raise the larynx on demand freely, like when in the bathroom, when taking a walk, driving, etc.
Do these 3 and check in 2 to 3 weeks, and you will be thnking of sending me gift to say a huge thank you.
