Still need to fix some lighting and environmental things. This is apart of a project I am currently working on, there is plenty more to come in the future from this!
>be me, pianta, 36 >work at the docks all day long. break my back lugging crates >always come home late, too tired to even do anything but go straight to bed >2 am >HAAA HAA >YEEEEE HOOO >HOO >YEEEE HAA HAAA >WEEEE HOOO >that ungodly beep. >the music. >WOOO HOOOO >HOOORAAAAAY >contemplate death >wake up >repeat
Holy fUck this game is crisp. Just listening to this with earbuds is ear candy. Mario's clacks on the hard floor, the puffy sounds when he runs on grass, the jangling of FLUDD on his back. So fucking good. And the quiet of night here adds to the ambience.
I like that there's no music and you can only hear the sound of waves. Reminds me of when I'd stop by the quiet insignificant islands at night in Zelda Wind Waker.
I always dreamed that you would be able to cycle between day and night in Delfino Plaza and other stages like in Pianta Village! This is exactly what it would look like, great job! It would also be really amazing to see Delfino Plaza at sunset like Sirena Beach is
It's because the game is using the standard Delfino Plaza shading for Mario. Sunshine doesn't have realtime lighting, so you basically have to tell the game what shading Mario needs for custom stages, if that makes sense. @@ozneeee If you're interested in help, I've got you: Look for the "AmbColor" items in the bin editor, they should be near the top. One of them(usually the first one) is for adjusting the color of Mario's shading, which you can do by changing the RGB values. I would guess you'd want to copy from the shading values in from nighttime Pianta Village, but you can also make you're own custom color if you'd prefer! The other "Ambcolor" items I think affect things like the color of Mario's shadow, or the shading for other objects, but I'm not 100% sure. Hope this helps!
cool idea for future projects like eclipse, i could see a mission taking place in night time after a certain shine amm. you unlock yoshi rocket and turbo all pretty back to back in vanilla, then the only real progression from there on delfino plaza is the flood and end of the game. couldve used more changes like this, i think every level shouldve had night stages, the game lacks the gloomy look throughout all but pianta village from what i remember. it also makes the game very static asides from the blue coins on certain missions and npc placements, nothing really changes.
I have wanted to do this for years and just recently began my journey into hacking sunshine to do this very thing, thank you for sharing it. if you want help incorporating this I’m willing to help in any way I can. :)
welcome to the journey my friend. hacking sunshine is honestly such a fun adventure even through the trial and error. i’d be happy to help you figure things out if you need it and perhaps we could discuss ideas, my discord is @lxqzy if you’re down :)
As a kid I had always imagined this happening when you made all of the manhole covers face the moon side.
You realize how genius of an idea that is for a rom hack?
Exactly this
The piantas: CAN YOU STFU WE'RE TRYING TO SLEEP

So this is where shine number 121 has been... Very interesting!
really cool but feels lonely without the npcs
Everybody is sleeping it’s been a hard day under the sun on the island

the Piantas: this Mario is so noisy that we can't sleep.

Imagine all 120 stars and it's still dark in Delphino plaza the Piantas are really angry then
I've been looking everywhere for a mod like this, this is awesome!! You should make a sunset and night mod for all stages.
Really good start! Can't wait to see more
I shoulda known I'd find ya here
Where mods exist, I lurk. haha@@MasterMario777
@@stevenshockley4237 Someone quote that.
fancy seeing you guys here
@AngryMax Ahh the mutual Sunshine obsession, it got you too :D
Maybe you can add lights in the houses?
In the game you can't
Why Mario is too shiny? Is it because of the engine of sunshine and/or because there aren't almost any dark areas in the entire game?
not 100% sure

pretty neat. you should add a couple of npcs!
definitely
Really cool mod, Sunshine is awesome!!
needs some sick custom music
This is awesome! Can you make a video on how to mod Sunshine?
Creepypasta vibes (I like it).
What kind of purgatory shit is this 😂

@@ozneeeeit’s definitely trial and error but you learn so much more that way. Sounds great I’ll reach out tomorrow! :)
Now you just need to adjust lighting on objects
is that amd frame gen?
this really reminds me how much I want to return to Isle Delfino is some official capacity
