Excellent :) Cool idea to begin open loop tracking when separation is within a tolerance. That will help with my LX200GPS which seems to cache pointing coordinates. Also thanks for the explanation about how to check for that in step 5 of the mount calibration routine. Cheers!
It should work if it has a generation 3 motor controller, but I have not had personal experience with this mount. Gen 3 upgrades kits are available for the Skywatcher Dob Goto.
Really amazing! Well done

Do you need accurate polar alignment and star alignment first?
Yes
Why astro physics mount are you using? They are expensive still second hand?
I am using an AP Mach2GTO mount. Used AP mounts do have a high resale value.
i have a skywatcher 16 inch dobsonian GOto with wifi i bought 2 or 3 years ago, synscan, will your skytrack work with this mount to your knowledge.

Did you ever try it with your Dob? Did it work?
Does Skytrack allow accurate tracking of the Sun as well?
Yes it can. The sun is included in the JPL Horizons Major Body database, so ephemeris data for the sun can be downloaded.
